  1. Umm.... I think Lester has only had two starts. Kinda premature.
  2. Season Line: 8 IP 3 H 4 BB 8 K's
  3. Martinez has recently thrown a shut out inning in each of the past two days. Season Line: 7.2 IP 4 H 0 ER 0 BB 13 K's 2 SV GB/FB: 4/6
  4. Runs it to 9.1 IP. Last night he allowed only one hit in two innings, fanning four in the process Season Line: 9.1 5 H 3 BB 10 K GB/FB: 11/3 K/BB ratio: 3.3:1
  5. Delcarmen pitched today, allowing one hit, one walk, and striking out two in two innings. Season Line: 10 IP 5 H 0 ER 3 BB 10 K's
  6. I don't know about the rest of you, but Taverez is too damn good of a pitcher to be throwing in one of these 9-1 games. Let Van Buren get some innings in.
  7. It's that time. http://students.washington.edu/roneill/Physics/minik/can.jpg Candidates: http://www.examiner.com/images/ap/small/small_FLCK10303272159.jpg http://www.mlbsite.com/players/s/seanez_rudy/seanez_rudy1.jpg http://www.soxprospects.com/players/images/vanburen.jermaine.jpg
  8. You guys may not know Joe McGrane, the Devil Rays color commentary guy, but he really, really hates Curt Schilling.
  9. Clemens has a 12-6 record with a 3.66 ERA in October. His World Series record is 3-0 with a 2.37 ERA. If it weren't for his legs, he'd have thrown a better game. If Duke signs Clemens, he still could have traded for Pedro. Whether the team was willing to take on his $7 million dollar contract is another question. Maybe if Duke wasn't such as a dumbass and didn't sign Steve Avery, we probably could have easily grabbed Pedro and Clemens.
  10. Sox won 13-5 against the A's, and Millar hit his 1st homerun. 2004: Royals beat the Red Sox 8-4, as Lowe got his ass whipped. Beat me to it.
  11. Game Info Date: Wednesday, April 19th Time 12:37 PM Starting Pitchers Mike Mussina http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/119608.jpg @ Ted Lilly http://toronto.bluejays.mlb.com/images/gameday/mugshots/mlb/150404.jpg Yankees look to end road trip on high note The Yankees have played 10 of their first 13 games of the season on the road, going 3-7 in the process. On Wednesday, they will close out the second road trip of the young season, looking to head home on a high note. Mike Mussina takes the mound for the Yankees, taking on former teammate Ted Lilly and the Blue Jays. Toronto won the first game of the two-game set, overcoming an early 4-0 lead to hand New York a 10-5 loss at Rogers Centre. "They weren't intimidated by our lead. They went out and put some runs on the board," said Johnny Damon. "This is going to be a tough year, with a bunch of tough games against those guys. They're definitely very dangerous." Mussina looks to bounce back after a hard-luck loss to the Twins last Friday. He allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings in the loss, his first of the season. In 35 career starts against the Blue Jays, Mussina is 18-11 with a 3.48 ERA, though he went 1-1 with a 10.24 ERA in two outings last season. Pitching matchup NYY: RHP Mike Mussina (1-1, 3.20 ERA) Mussina went 1-1 with a 10.24 ERA against the Jays last season. TOR: LHP Ted Lilly (1-0, 3.86 ERA) Lilly, a former Yankee, went 1-2 with a 10.34 ERA against New York in 2005.
  12. ^ He's right. That's a little too much for the Mets.
  13. 1st base is open, I don't know why they don't walk Ramirez.
  14. You know the urban legend that you lose 10 brain cells every time you hit your head? I don't think Johnny Damon has to worry about that.
  15. Quit trying to validate the clutch performance of Alex Rodriguez. We all know that A-Rod can hit homeruns. Whether he can do it in late games, and in the playoffs is an entirely different question.
  16. Baldelli - Hurt Lugo - Hurt Huff - Hurt You know the saying, you can't steal first? Gathright should learn that. I guess, you omitted Roberts, Gibbons, and Hernandez.
  17. dude i just got owned
  18. Sexson's been injured, just once. Did you see he hit those 9 HR's in only 90 AB's? As for the 29 HR's, you cannot deny the fact that Sexson had a great year. .279/.363/.504/.867. He also drove in 102 runs. The fact that he didn't hit a lot of homeruns, doesn't change the fact, that he still was a great hitter.
  19. Sexson smashed around 45 HR's with the Brewers. Twice. Sounds consistent.
  20. If "Wild Thing" could ever pull it together, then the Orioles wouldn't be that bad. Bedard, Benson, Chen, Caberra, and Lopez isn't a bad staff. Plus, they can hit a lot more than the D-Rays can. (Seriously, is Ty Wigginton, really a cleanup hitter?)
  21. But you'd agree that he's a very good player, no?
