  1. Below are the brackets for Round 2. As you did in Round 1, make sure to bold your picks. Matchups with three players rather than two are because of ties from Round 1, so only vote for one player out of the three. The voting for Round 2 will end on June 12th at 11:59pm. BRACKET ONE Babe Ruth (New York Yankees) vs Andre Dawson (Montreal Expos) Mickey Mantle (New York Yankees) vs Paul Waner (Pittsburgh Pirates) Tris Speaker (Boston Red Sox) vs Lou Brock (St. Louis Cardinals) Joe DiMaggio (New York Yankees) vs Al Kaline (Detroit Tigers) BRACKET TWO Ty Cobb (Detroit Tigers) vs Roberto Clemente (Pittsburgh Pirates) Hank Aaron (Milwaukee Braves) vs Al Simmons (Philadelphia Athletics) vs Billy Williams (Chicago Cubs) Willie Mays (San Francisco Giants) vs Willie Stargell (Pittsburgh Pirates) Mel Ott (New York Giants) vs Reggie Jackson (Oakland Athletics) BRACKET THREE Ted Williams (Boston Red Sox) vs "Shoeless" Joe Jackson (Cleveland Guardians) Stan Musial (St. Louis Cardinals) vs Kirby Puckett (Minnesota Twins) Frank Robinson (Cincinnati Reds) vs Earl Averill (Cleveland Guardians) vs Sammy Sosa (Chicago Cubs) Duke Snider (Brooklyn Dodgers) vs Carl Yastrzemski (Boston Red Sox) BRACKET FOUR Barry Bonds (San Francisco Giants) vs Pete Rose (Cincinnati Reds) Ricky Henderson (Oakland Athletics) vs Tony Gwynn (San Diego Padres) Billy Hamilton (Philadelphia Phillies) vs Manny Ramirez (Boston Red Sox) Ed Delahanty (Philadelphia Phillies) vs Ken Griffey Jr. (Seattle Mariners)
  2. They probably went to Grimsley and said, "Go to jail, or give us 100% cooperation." Grimsley choose the latter. He didn't give a s*** if he was right, he was concerned with staying out of a federal prison.
  3. In my opinion, this is bigger than the whole Bonds controversy. For the first time, we have names, and lots of them. Grimsley's been in the major leagues for almost 15 years and has played with eight different teams. These won't be just fringe minor leaguers, there will be a good player caught. On the plus side, baseball's steriod testing policy is a joke. Finally, they'll probably be able to start testing blood samples. They should have done that in the first place.
  4. He's played for a lot of teams. That's a lot of names. Big controversy brewin' here. Anyone else want to bet that he won't be a D-Back for too long?
  5. Grimsely, implicated others to taking steriods. This is going to be BIG, if those names get out.
  6. As much as I wanted Roger Clemens to become a Boston Red Sox again, I'm going to have to agree with yeszir. Clemens had ZERO intention of returning to Boston or New York. If he really cared about winning, do you think he would have signed with the Houston Astros? They were so pumped by the Clemens return, that they promptly lost five games in a row. I mean, what the hell is Roger Clemens going to do to save the Astros? Andy Pettite isn't going to benefit with Roger sitting next to him, because Roger is gone when Pettite toes the rubber. Even if Pettite does turn it around, the Astros still have Wandy Rodriguez, and Taylor Buchholtz at the back of that rotation. That's Matt Clement and Lenny Dinardo bad. I won't get into how s***** that offense it. The Astros suck, and we'll probably have another media circus of "Where's Roger Clemens going, today?" come July. It'll be the same answer, nowhere.

  8. Van Buren has walked eight batters, doubtful Riske has walked that much. (not directed at you)
  9. Pauley isn't much of a pitcher. He's a fifth starter at best. He is the perfect example of how desperate the Boston Red Sox are for pitching. I won't ever be able to understand how the Yankees are playing as well as they are. Their offense looks above average, the pitching staff is average, and the defense is below average. I guess that's why the play the game. (f*** you, Chris Berman)
  10. I'm going to nitpick your entire post just for the hell of it. Both pitchers were outstanding? I'd Pauley was above average and Wang was average. The Red Sox have a problem where they don't hit with a guy standing on second base. Wang was bailed out three times in that department, and was helped out by three double plays. Manny being Manny also helped out extremely. Melky Caberra isn't proving he's anything more than a defensive replacement or fourth outfielder. Though, to give Melky credit, he is showing excellent patience at the plate. But, on the downside, he lacks the track record to keep that up. As for telling us so, no team is going to want Caberra. He doesn't hit enough to justify being a COF. Caberra's ISOP, is a whopping ~.68. To compare, that's on the likes with another fearsome power hitter. His name is Juan Pierre. Great player? No, but an average role player? Yeah, you'd go with that.
  11. He didn't tickle William Shatner's balls who because he is gay.
  12. Thank god, Schilling's going tommorow.
  13. He didn't blow that game. (Pauley and Francona's lapse helped that one out)
  14. Wily Mo Pena should be that player. Varitek and Gonzalez can be the two auto-outs in our lineup. The Red Sox need another starter, as good as Pauley was tonight, he isn't likely to repeat those performances over the course of the year.
  15. No such things as s*** seats when it comes to the Sox/Yankees. No?
  16. Probably 10-15, but that's not enough for a COF. His ISOP is a whopping .105. Not what you look for in RF's.
  17. The Red Sox need to reassemble that batting order. 1. Youkilis 2. Loretta 3. Ortiz 4. Ramriez 5. Lowell 6. Crisp 7. Nixon 8. Varitek 9. Gonzalez
  18. No one is going to want a 32 year old COF with no power.
  19. What? You're not making sense. You uttered the dumbest thing I've ever head. "His ERA is only a run and a half higher than Beckett's" How does that make any sense toward your argument? If Beckett is bad, then what does that make Clement? Atrocious? "Your ERA is your ERA" Clement's is 6.68. That makes him 96th out of 100. In other words, bad?
  20. Yeah, I should have said, "Comeback against Mariano Rivera?"
  21. After that catch? That kid deserves it.
  22. Hopefully, Seanez keeps it within one.
  23. Come back against Mariano Rivera?
