  1. Could have gone either way. That ball was scalded by Gonzalez.
  2. :what: An error? That's tough.
  3. Jeff Weaver happened. Oh, and Gonzo swung at a pitch that was 50 feet off the plate, and takes a pitch that was an inch off the plate.
  4. Stupid pitch. You throw three curveballs to a batter who has one of the best eye in baseball? Chances are, he'll be able to adjust. Gonzalez sucks. No mojo can save this AB
  5. Cano rips a Schilling fastball into the RF porch. So much for no power. EDIT* Let's factor in Yankee Stadium. I'll raise Cano's projected HR rate to 10-13, which is pretty good for a 2B. One more thing, looking back at the numbers (~.147 ISOP), Cano should hit for a decent amount of power (for a 2B). Whether, Cano's plate discipline will allow him to is another thing.
  6. C'mon, might as well use FLD % if you're going to spit out meaningless baseball stats. A better statistic which is probably the best at measures fielding would be the current FRAA. A FRAA of zero, means an average fielder. Robinson Cano is rated at -1, or slightly below average. Cano's power surge was an abberation. He has no track record of hitting HR's, or doubles. He probably will give you a .280 average, 7-10 HR's, hit about 20-25 doubles, and play below average to average defense. He's a decent player, but he is vastly overrated due to his inflated batting average. You guys can have Cano, I'll take Pedroia.
  7. 2:1 Vartiek hits into a double play?
  8. Your intention failed. Your source is a New York sportswriter, who believes that Major League ballplayers are established with one play. Of course, that New York sportswriter is going to back the Yankees. He's a Yankee fan. Cano, is below average defensively. He's also an empty .300 hitter. No power, no patience, not a whole lot of speed. Why do you guys like this guy?
  9. That was a strike. Knee-high, inside corner.
  10. This guy who wrote the column is about as dumb as Schlitze the Pinhead. How stupid is that last comment. TOLD YA SO FUK U MELKY WAY!!!!!!!! I didn't know if you made one play, that means you're automatically a sure fire HOF. Apparently, to this dumbass it does. Callis is dead on with every single one of those players.
  11. http://www.soxprospects.com/players/images/kapler.gabe.jpg OMG KAPPY IS SO H0TT!!!!!!!:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D :clap::clap::clap::clap::clap::
  12. Not sure where that 2-2 pitch was, but Schilling shouldn't throw that pitch.
  13. If Tek has another 0fer, his OPS will below .700. Tuck that into the eight spot.
  14. Yup. Already looking like it.
  15. Tek? Ugh.... He should be due.
  16. The catcher is Joe Mauer. He's hitting .381, and he's 23 years old.
  17. No, it isn't. Johnson had a lot of arm strength. Therefore, it is entirely possible that Johnson could throw a fastball harder then Pedro did. Then again, it's frivolous arguing. Pedro and Johnson both had cannons for arms and could get it up to 98 mph.
  18. I'm dead wrong. They haven't played together, but the two are friends. In the affidavit, Grimsley identifies one of the players as his close friend, and as a former major league ball player. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/graphics/art3/0607061grimsley15.gif Who exactly does this implicate? Certaintly not Jason Giambi, but according to sources, Grimsley is close with Chuck Knoblauch. He played with Grimsley in both New York, and Kansas City. Could he be one of the names blacked out under there? He fits the bill of former player, and friend. You could throw the name of Roger Clemens out there. At the time, Clemens was retired, and therefore, a former MLB player. Also, I can say with certainty that one of those players was a member of the 2003 KC Royals. Page 11 of the affidavit, states that Grimsley flunked a drug test in 2003, and that blacked out name (most likely a teammate) told him of the failed drug test. Infering from that, one can assume that one of those has to be a Royal.
  19. More reason to make a trade with another team. Realistically, the probably could pry a Phillip Hughes type prospect away from an organization. For such a team like the Brewers, they badly need young pitchers. The loss of Lee will hurt, but I think Corey Hart would lessen the blow. Getting a player like Hughes would be a coup.
  20. Anyone feel like giving credit to Mr. Giambi? The margin of error was way too small to allow Pauley to pitch to Caberra. Though, Pauley took the wrong approach, and should have attacked Caberra with fastballs right over the plate. I mean, the kid's got less power then Ozzie Smith did, do you really think he could have done anything else besides hit a single? Instead, Pauley throws four balls that aren't even close, and up steps the most patient hitter in the AL. C'mon, if anyone of you weren't expecting the Yankees to be up 5-1 or 2-1 after Giambi dug into the batters box, then you should reevaluate plate discipline. Oh, and the Red Sox should be able to play baseball tonight.
  21. Let's see. _______________________ http://www.geocities.com/heavens_wolves/no-sign.gif NO MORE SIGS
  22. Giambi has never played with Grimsley. I can say with absolute certainty that Jose Canseco is one of those players, maybe Clemens, maybe David Cone? His shoulder was being held together with a pin, it was remarkable how he continued to pitch. He played for "The Steroid Rings" of Baltimore back in 2005. Could Palmerio or Tejada show up on that list? One more thing, I guarantee a few of those players come back from the California Angels. He indicated in the affidavit that players from California and players who lived in Mexico were able to commute back and forth to buy performance enhancing drugs.
  23. Anyone think that Clemens might be one of the blotched out names? Here's the affidavit for the Grimsley case: http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/0607061grimsley1.html
