  1. Haha, no posts after this thread. I wonder why that is?
  2. List a few you might think are available. It's really that simple?
  3. I thought everyone hated Sosa? :dunno:
  4. 4 mg of sedatives can put you to sleep? What a f***ing rip off.
  5. EDIT* Oh, you jumped ship too early, no prop.
  6. Picked the wrong guy to extend.
  7. You can't be this stupid. You can't compare possibly compare those two pitchers.
  8. Red Sox starting five GO/AO: Schilling: .60 Beckett: 1.04 Matsuzaka: 1.06 Wakefield: .72 Tavarez: 3.20 (Pedroia's been in just three of his starts) So you have two neutral pitchers, two flyball heavy pitchers, and one GB pitcher who might throw 5 innings at the most. You can't get to a lot of balls if you don't have a lot of chances. Besides, Pedroia has been probably a little below average this year, which is still an upgrade over Mark Loretta. Loretta scored a -9 FRAA Pedroia scored a -1 FRAA so far. With the glove? No. In terms of range? Yes. Small sample size, and with the fly ball tendencies of the Red Sox pitchers, we know why that that number is that low. He scored a +12 last year in the field. Nixon scored a +6, and Pena scored a -1. Why? Because you think that Crisp is playing the same? Last year, Crisp looked lost in CF, he's playing a much better CF this year. Probably about average, but it's still much better than last year's Iron Glove performance.
  9. Not that big of an impact. Give it up. The Cubs finished 7th in DEF, and they were 24th in ERA. Minnesota finished 19th, yet 3rd in ERA. Nationals 30th in ERA, 12th in DEF. San Francisco 7th in ERA, 22nd in DEF. Milwaukee 25th in ERA, 14th in DEF. For you to say that's definite cause, is far-fetched. If what you were saying was true, there wouldn't be this weird of a correlation. Look at who they added. Lugo, more range. Pedroia, more range. Drew, a lot more range. Crisp is also playing a lot better this year in CF as well. Plus, it's only been 22 games? Too small of a sample size. They were great at catching the baseball, but not very good at going to get the baseball. I think you can admit that. Loretta, didn't have a lot of range. Gonzalez who has one the best gloves in baseball, has average range at best. Coco was terrible last year, Manny was well below average, so was Pena. It's not a huge coincidence that the Red Sox were rated this low. You'd admit that the Red Sox OF was pretty bad on defense last year? Bad stat to use.
  10. Again, there's a reason for it. Unrelated.
  11. Dustin Pedroia has the potential to be better. He's been extremely unlucky due to the fact that his BABIP is .192. He's had some hard hit balls, they just aren't finding holes. In AAA for example his BABIP was .317, and he happened to hit .305. He probably can get his average up around .290.
  12. Don't really care. The majority of players do play hard. Alex Gonzalez OPS'd under .700. I don't give a s*** if he was TUFF N GRITTY, he still was a black hole hitter. # YEAR TEAM LG PA AB H BB SO HBP HR ROE DEF_EFF 1. 2006 SDN NL 6,175 5,557 1,385 468 1,097 50 176 49 0.718 2. 2006 DET AL 6,145 5,535 1,420 489 1,003 53 160 63 0.712 3. 2006 NYN NL 6,240 5,531 1,402 527 1,161 62 180 56 0.708 4. 2006 NYA AL 6,215 5,590 1,463 496 1,019 59 170 71 0.706 5. 2006 HOU NL 6,219 5,572 1,425 480 1,160 54 182 55 0.706 6. 2006 CHN NL 6,366 5,484 1,396 687 1,250 67 210 55 0.705 7. 2006 SFN NL 6,225 5,449 1,422 584 992 70 153 55 0.705 8. 2006 TOR AL 6,151 5,532 1,447 504 1,076 59 185 65 0.705 9. 2006 SLN NL 6,196 5,496 1,475 504 970 80 193 65 0.704 10. 2006 ANA AL 6,149 5,541 1,410 471 1,164 50 158 76 0.703 11. 2006 CHA AL 6,232 5,664 1,534 433 1,012 58 200 51 0.700 12. 2006 WAS NL 6,424 5,602 1,535 584 960 92 193 74 0.698 13. 2006 SEA AL 6,294 5,611 1,500 560 1,067 53 183 59 0.698 14. 2006 MIL NL 6,210 5,494 1,454 514 1,145 74 177 67 0.694 15. 2006 OAK AL 6,279 5,614 1,525 529 1,003 55 162 44 0.694 16. 2006 FLO NL 6,294 5,490 1,465 622 1,088 74 166 66 0.693 17. 2006 ARI NL 6,341 5,634 1,503 536 1,115 61 168 70 0.693 18. 2006 ATL NL 6,350 5,600 1,529 572 1,049 55 183 61 0.692 19. 2006 MIN AL 6,066 5,586 1,490 356 1,164 36 182 50 0.692 20. 2006 LAN NL 6,289 5,655 1,524 492 1,068 41 152 74 0.691 21. 2006 CIN NL 6,319 5,671 1,576 464 1,053 60 213 78 0.691 22. 2006 COL NL 6,318 5,600 1,549 553 952 66 155 58 0.690 23. 2006 PHI NL 6,366 5,677 1,561 512 1,138 62 211 64 0.688 24. 2006 TEX AL 6,237 5,601 1,557 496 972 66 162 57 0.688 25. 2006 CLE AL 6,190 5,618 1,582 429 948 51 166 76 0.686 26. 2006 BAL AL 6,327 5,560 1,579 613 1,016 48 216 55 0.685 27. 2006 BOS AL 6,292 5,637 1,570 509 1,070 68 181 39 0.683 28. 2006 KCA AL 6,434 5,636 1,648 637 904 60 213 60 0.682 29. 2006 TBA AL 6,374 5,597 1,600 606 979 63 180 73 0.680 30. 2006 PIT NL 6,354 5,507 1,545 620 1,060 70 156 59 0.676 The Red Sox were 27th in converting balls put into play into outs.   13. There's a reason he wanted only $1 million. Do you know what that reason is?
  14. Do you expect that success to last?
  15. This is in Lancaster too.
  16. Really Clemens like. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:
  17. Selling low on Carpenter. Any takers?
  18. Great point. Think of Coco like Bernie Williams in the 90's. (Pierre is too fast)
