  1. Drew - 5 year contract Nixon - 1 year contract If Nixon got a five year deal, then you could make the argument about age, but Drew's deal will have one seasons at Nixon's age, three years above it. Besides, we're talking about this year. Not the whole length of the deal. Sure thing, Strawman.
  2. This is irrelevant.
  3. Fantastic deductive reasoning. Idiot. Can't be the fact that the rest of the Yankee bullpen is lights out? The fact that Clemens will have that lights out Yankee bridge pitch in 38% of Clemens' starts? No, I was talking about Rivera having an ERA rivaling that of Pirates immortal closer, Mike Williams. Oh, and expect that type of dominance to last ALL year. Seriously, how the f*** did you arrive at that conclusion?
  4. He was probably emotionally distressed, because it wasn't 9-6.
  5. Nixon's BABIP is somewhere north of .380. In contrast, his career BABIP is .310. His average is bound to fall. Which will take his OBP, OPS, and SLG% with it. He might OPS around .800 - .820, which is terrific value for $3 million. Jacobs Field is also aiding Trot Nixon as well. The Jake tends to inflate LH Avg by 10%, and boosts HR rates by about that same figure. Fenway tends to inflate average by about 8%, but deflate LH power by about 15%.
  6. Maddon is an idiot. Reyes hasn't pitched in four days, why not bring him in? Oh, wait. He would be psychologically ruined because he's pitching in a tie game. Right, Riverside?
  7. Last three years for Dice-K he posted a 2.02 BB/9. Those numbers aren't 100% accurate. You have to adjust for league difficulty. If league difficulty is a good barometer of translating stats. Dice-K was probably saved 7/10ths of a walk every nine innings.
  8. No, the command still isn't there, but at least the walks are scattered.
  9. The Texas Rangers just suck.
  10. He's had a hit in every game this month, and four multi-hit games.
  11. enough small sample sizes I don't think comfort has anything to do with it, I think his command is the bigger issue.
  12. No, I don't get it. The statement makes ZERO sense.
  13. Good job, but the Brewers are not run by Selig.
  14. For a salary cap, as long as a salary floor is established.
  15. Wow.. Lou Pinella may be the most OVERRATED manager in the game.
  16. I guess no more Bonds.
