  1. Hopefully not, we will lose. Coco at 2nd? Ugh.....
  2. Someone used FIP and DIPS to prove an argument. I think I'm going to cry.
  3. Hey, thanks. I noticed that. This suspension is still absolute crap. The two reacted like just about any other player would have. Why wasn't Bowen suspended in Game 3? When did taking out a shot at someone's groin, become less henious then leaping off a bench. Especially, when emotions are flaring as high as they have been. The reaction was perfectly reasonable.
  4. He is a disaster in RF, he could hit 35 HR's and not make up for the amount of doubles he watched drop. However, he is an adequete CF, and coupled with his powerful bat, you have an above average CF. Timely hits? You know he's hitting like .242 with RISP? No, he was paid to get on base at a respectable clip, hit at least 15-20 HR's, and not have a terrible glove in CF. He has failed at all of these tasks. Though in fairness, his glove is better this year. That will likely mean, he has a .300 OBP, which is absolutely pathetic. A high SLG% can sometimes negate a low OBP, Coco cannot compensate at all. A guy with a career .305 EQA, and a career .285 batting average is suddenly going to turn into an average ballplayer? Sorry, I don't see it happening. Bit of an overstatement. Just a bit. Drew is probably better than Ichiro and Hunter. Jones will get a massive deal on the free agent market. I don't understand why you like Jones. His defense is starting to slip, and he strikes out 25% of the time. He does have awesome power, but will he sustain that?
  5. Give me a list of players who hit .300 with at least 275 AB's. With those limitations, he averaged 1 HR per every 17 AB's. Ortiz is around the 12 area, Manny around 13. He must be doing something right. After all, he hit .300 in the bigs. By your definition, players who strike out are bad. McGwire and Sosa, both fanned over 160 times. So in essence, you would rather have a Mario Mendoza, because he makes contact, over a McGwire or Sosa. Tell me why this makes sense.
  6. Given regular playing time in CF last year, he had a .875 to .900 OPS. (Then came the wrist injury) I believe that would be well above league average. Besides, he is average with the glove in CF. Terrible in RF Average in CF. Say it with me. TERRIBLE IN RF, TOLERABLE IN CF! Great, that is all.
  7. No. not you. The other 95% of the board who would rather drive a needle into their uretha then see a strikeout.
  8. Do you guys hate Wily Mo, just because he was traded for Bronson Arroyo?
  9. Too bad the odds were like -50,000. I win $0.10
  10. All right, time to be clutch, Coke.
  11. Great strikeout numbers. Let's see if he can normalize his hit rate. I think $ had a bigger role than Delcarmen. He really just has that fastball. He has shown he can throw a curveball, but not with command. If he ever gets a hold of it, he will be a good pitcher. You know this how? If he can't handle failure, then f*** him. He doesn't deserve to pitching the bigs. Besides, it is WAY WAY WAY too early to write Hansen or Delcarmen off.
  12. I will leave you alone if you : 1. Stop saying Wankees. Not funny. 2. Stop saying Wily Mo Pop Up. Not funny. 3. Explain why Wily Mo Pena sucks even though he is a .300 hitter, and has unbelievable power. 4. Explain why Wily Mo's strikeouts hurt the team, more than his power helps. 5. Why Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa both fanned over 150 times, but were extremely productive hitters.
  13. No one is getting suspended. At this crucial part of the season, for a foul as ticky-tack as this one? No freaking way. OMG INABD
  14. True, but you would agree that there is some luck involved with every ground ball? Matt DeSalvo does not belong in the category of the pitchers who can induce weak contact. Must be a juiced radar gun. I've seen Rivera at 92-94 mph, which is when he is more hittable. That cutter doesn't have the bite it used to have, either. I think he's still a 2.50 ERA to 3.00 ERA closer, but not the dominant guy he used to be. Because he's getting hit when he throws it? I still have the Yankees winning the Wild Card. They will catch up to the Central teams when the pitching is healthy. Cash just has to make a move for a reliever, and they are a serious contender.
  15. I included the college innings, because he has more polish than Dontrelle Willis had when he was called up. Dusty Baker happened to Mark Prior. Yeah, that was pathetic. He even missed a month and threw 225 IP in the regular season. I think he's proven that he can shut down the EL league. He needs to be moved up to Pawtucket, and then to Boston in August, a la Papelbon 2005. No, but if Gabbard and Pauley start getting most of the starts, I will kill Theo and personally insert Buchholtz.
  16. It can be better. No, he isn't on base enough to score runs. Speed doesn't mean a thing, if you aren't on base. If that is true, then why does Coco Crisp trail Wily Mo Pena in average, OBP, SLG%? Nice. Prefering a player over another leads to anal sex. Is this an example of humor, or a learning disability? By that logic, you would pass on upgrading the team, because it is playing well. I guess that means, don't move Tavarez, Timlin, or Coco Crisp.
  17. Neither of them are viable fifth starter candiates. They don't miss enough bats. Right now, they are lucky. You can't have a .33 K/BB ratio and expect to succeed. It's possible he could get a Shawn Chacon lucky season, but the odds are against that. His BABIP is .212. That is incredibly lucky. You can bet that number is going to come upward. Rasner is not a fifth starter candiate either. His WHIP is over 1.40, and it will probably stay there. He doesn't have major league stuff, either. I don't see why people are complaining about the offense. They have scored 200 runs, which I think puts them at 2nd in MLB. His head is fine. His cutter and velocity are not. They Yankees aren't 8.5 games worse then the Red Sox. Probably about 5 wins worse. That margin needs to stay here, otherwise Clemens won't make a difference.
  18. Shut up about team chemistry. You could put Kevin Millar in that clubhouse, so they love each other, but they aren't going to win any more baseball games. They have NO pitching, that is why they are losing.
