  1. The throw was right on the money, but Kotsay made a two second bobble in CF before releasing it, allowing Damon to get in safely.
  2. I'm just warming up to the guy. He's finally showing some balls with Lowe. To quote Tito in non-BS talk, "Lowe, you f***ing pussy, you suck and blew another game because your head was shoved up your ass! You want to bitch about the media calling you a headcase and blame it on getting too much of the plate? That's because you cannot focus on making good pitches, you stupid motherf***er! Pull your head out of your ass and be tough!" That's basically what he said when it boils down to it. PS- Sorry for all the swearing, but that's what happens when Tito starts drinking.
  3. I was just kidding. By the way, Jason Varitek and his intangibles had an 0-4 with 3 K's game. Blazing bat speed he had tonight being 10 feet late on those fastballs.
  4. $14 to $15 and see how he reacts to it and base the second offer on that.
  5. Hitting and running was fantastic in the 8th inning tonight. Damon on first and Mueller swinging at the first pitch for a line-out double-play. I want the Sox to bunt and steal more as well, but I think the hit and run is the most overrated play in baseball.
  6. Tough game for Shopp and the PawSox. He went 0-4 with a K and Mark Malaska gave up the game winning homerun in the ninth inning to lose 3-2. Another night in which nobody on the PawSox could really hit. How dare Shoppach not get an extra-base hit for one of the few games this month! He sucks! We need Varitek and his declining bat speed and wonderful intangibles back for $30 million dollars over the next 3 years! Trade Shoppach for Ryan Langerhans! Season Line: .245/.335/.453/.788; .37 (31/83) BB/K ratio; 15 2B, 12 HR, 41 RBI, 39 R
  7. That would've been an easy fly-out in any other ballpark on Earth, including a little league park. On that topic, the Sox should do something like SBC Park in San Francisco once the Big Dig is done and traffic isn't so crazy. Some nice, waterfront ballpark in Southie that's a nice, big pitcher's park. That's what we need. Keep Fenway open and maintained as a tourist trap and open the new park. Get Fidelity as a corporate sponsor. Fidelity Field sounds fantastic. I like it. I'm hired!
  8. trot4mvp is 100% correct.
  9. You are 100% correct.
  10. Kentucky Fried Kevin.
  11. Baseball America's Daily Dish:
  12. They've got Kim on a pitch-count so he doesn't reinjure whatever the hell he injured last time. I listened to pieces of his outing on the radio and not once did they comment on Kim's velocity.
  13. Shoppach went 1-3 with a 2B and 2 K's tonight. The entire PawSox lineup only had 5 hits (3 belonged to Henri Stanley) so the fact that Shoppach could even hit the suddenly unhittable MudHens pitching staff is great. Go ahead, folks, take a look at the OPS. Season Line: .249/.339/.461/.800; .38 (31/82) BB/K ratio; 15 2B, 12 HR, 41 RBI, 39 R
  14. This just in from the NewsDesk: NOBODY GIVES A f***! I'm just kidding.
  15. Kevin Millwood and cash for Derek Lowe and Ramiro Mendoza could work. All three guys need a change of scenery.
  16. I tell ya one thing, Pokey wouldn't have done that.
  17. Well, I'm listening to the game now and there is no talk of Kim's velocity. These announders are awful and they both sound exactly the same.
  18. Definitely. This team needs defense from that position. All the other spots are well covered defensively. Well, at least until Varitek caves in behind the dish and Nomar starts launching them into the stands again.
  19. Dunno. He is pitching for Pawtucket tonight, so we'll see.
  20. Abe Alvarez (lefty for AA) is the closest thing, but there's no sense in rushing him when BK is on the way back.
  21. They listed Manny as eligible in the article, so it is not out of the question. Wow, I hope Big Papi wins.
  22. The S.S. Astros is on its way down and Beltran could be back on the market as well. I still believe this team needs rotation help before it needs more offense. Trot, Mueller and Nomar are beginning to find their swings. Damon and Bellhorn are fantastic at getting on base. Ortiz and Ramirez are the best 3-4 combo in the league (no one combines for more HR's, 2B's or RBI's). With those seven guys doing their jobs, this team does not need offense. What they need is a real, bonafide starter who you are comfortable handing the ball to in Game 3 of a series after Pedro and Schilling. If the Marlins fall out of it, Carl Pavano could be available. Ditto goes for Odalis Perez on the Dodgers and possibly Matt Clement if the Cubs struggle (that has about the same chance of me bone-ing Leeann Tweeden... but I digress...). I think Dave McCarty should play every day instead of Millar, but I know everyone is going to jump all over me for that, but listen. The way Millar has hit this season, their bats are comparable and McCarty has had some timely homeruns not to mention that Gold Glove caliber defense of his. I want him to get more playing time.
  23. Back to All-Stars, Big Papi Ortiz was selected to participate in the homerun derby. Unfortunately, Jason "I Have Parasites and Only 11 Homeruns All Season" Giambi was biasly selected as well. I hope Ortiz wins and Giambi doesn't even hit one.
  24. September call-up when the roster expands, most likely. I think they'll let him get regular work in, catching every day in Pawtucket until then. If the Sox have a comfortable lead in the WC (unlikely) he could get 2/5 of the starts in September to keep Tek fresh while Doug catches Wake.
