  1. What were you going to make the Red Sox fan do if he lost???
  2. Tie game
  3. Oh my god. What a game. Thank God we're now tied for 1st.
  4. And I Get Nesn Today!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Sounds like Papelbon is the setup man from here on out. Let's get one guys.
  6. I'm stuck with the Baltimore broadcast, but Jim Palmer is so much better on his own broadcast than on national games. Really good job. Go TROT!!!!!!!
  7. Screw WS wins. How many playoff series?
  8. I rented Fever Pitch for tonight. About to throw it in. I guess it's not supposed to be THAT bad. Plus Barrymore has some real nice knockers. I just wanna go all :wetodd: on them!
  9. Ken Macha and Tito are virtually the same person. How is this any different? The thing with Francona that I like is that there is a legit reason for everything he does. And he explains the why's and why-not's after each game. I think he's done an excellent job this year considering the zillion injuries the team has had to deal with.
  10. God dammit. It had better be the only game Fox is showing that day. Braves/Astros/Marlins all play at 6pm that day so hopefully I won't be blacked out.
  11. Here are the probables for the rest of the season (I think...). Baltimore Arroyo vs Cabrera Clement vs Bedard Wells vs Maine Toronto Bush vs Schilling Chacin vs Wake Lilly vs Arroyo Downs vs Clement NY Small vs Wells Johnson vs Schilling Mussina vs Wake
  12. This day off will help. God, I can't remember the last time there wasn't a game on. 30 games in 30 days....
  13. Bastard! I was just going to post that.
  14. Was that the game he was thrown out for hitting a batter?
  15. I know Papi is hot and Manny seems to be getting his groove back on, but I don't get Rent in the number 2 slot. His OBP this month is under .200. Ortiz would have tied the game up on Monday had there been a runner on base in the 9th. It's rather pointless to fill a spot that will see a lot of strikes with a guy who can't do anything with them right now... Oh well. :dunno:

PETERSBURG, Florida (Ticker) -- Prior to heading to Baltimore for a weekend series, the Boston Red Sox will try to keep the bats going in support of Tim Wakefield in the finale of a three-game series with the Tampa Bay Devil Rays . Boston broke out for 21 hits in a 15-2 win over Tampa Bay on Tuesday. The major league's top offense had been held to an average of 3.7 runs over its previous 15 games, during which it was 7-8. David Ortiz and Manny Ramirez each homered twice and were two of four Red Sox batters to record four hits in Tuesday's rout. The outburst enabled the club to maintain a one-half game lead over the New York Yankees in the American League East. Wakefield (15-11, 4.07 ERA) has received just six runs of support over his last three starts, going 1-1 with a 1.73 ERA. He did not factor in the decision in Boston's 3-2, 10-inning win over Oakland last Friday, allowing two runs in nine innings. The veteran knuckleballer is 13-1 lifetime against the Devil Rays , including 3-0 with a 2.63 ERA this year. Wakefield will be opposed by dynamic lefthander Scott Kazmir (9-9, 3.77), who is 2-0 with a 0.45 ERA in three starts this month, striking out 24 and yielding 12 hits in 20 innings. In six career starts against the Red Sox , Kazmir is 2-1 with a 2.18 ERA. Boston B. Mueller 3B E. Renteria SS D. Ortiz DH M. Ramirez LF K. Millar 1B D. Mirabelli C T. Nixon RF A. Hyzdu CF A. Kazmir is a great young pitcher, but it seems the Sox have rattled him a few time this year. Rent could have a decent night - I hear he's better against lefties. Let's go Sox!
  17. It's all about who started the thread....
  18. Is that a fantasy or did that conversation really happen? I doubt it really happened. If it did it'd probably be more like this. "K-beotch, Eye bee definititilyz intested inz meetinz witch u summertime!. Anz, pweez gimme a holla at my crib hear. anytimez! spankz, HRam (da H is fo Ho)"
  19. It's uncanny. I've never seen anything like it before. Every time up it's like "He can't possibly do it again. And that's ok because Manny's coming up". Then Papi crushes one.
  20. It looked like he snapped his elbow. yeeeeeehhhhhhh. Nixon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (It's all about who starts the thread)
  21. Ok, 3-0 to start the game. Let's go Schill! The breakdown by me on Schilling: He tries to establish his fastball the first time through the order. If it's good, he'll have a fine start. If it's not right, he'll get lit up the first time through (unless it's against the Yankees ).
