  1. that's gotta hurt like a mofo.
  2. Yeah, looks like his day is done. I doubt it will happen, but if Pap gets hit hard the media will have a field day in Boston tomorrow. Not that he will, but just saying.
  3. I want to see Foulke in the 9th. Keep it rolling. If he gets into trouble, then bring in Pap.
  4. There's another one there Keith.
  5. There's one there Foulky! Be nice to see him go two today.
  6. If there is a petition to be signed to ban TheFaginator I'd sign it.
  7. Michael Kay sucks his own dick. Anybody who says "the Yankees can win this game, because, well, they are the Yankees" is an idiot. And he says or implies that all the time. I do find him odd in that his HR call is the same for any team - if the Yankees hit one out he sounds like a smug dick, but when an opponent hits one out he sounds like he's an arrogant baseball snob. I'm surprised more Yankee fans don't hate that.
  8. Sox up 2-1, end of 5th. Wake and Bard are doing a little better than last time.
  9. Nice sac bunt there Gonzo.
  10. That's why I absolutely love Love LOVE Patriots day. I always take the day off. You wake up at 10 am and have about an hour to read the papers, tune in to eei and chug your coffee. Then at 11 it's game on! You get the day game, the marathon, the Missing Man formation jets. A pizza (for me). And you are trashed by 2pm!!!!!! Such a sweet day. It might be my most favorite day of the year as it always falls on a Monday (as opposed to the Fenway home opener which could fall on any day) so it makes it a three day weekend. Ahhhh. I can't wait.
  11. Seems Bard's having an easier time of catching the ball today. I say Texas was just the perfect storm of wind, jitters, and Wakes mojo.
  12. Well, I had to start one at one point. Thanks yeszir.

Boston has taken the first two matchups with Baltimore in contrasting fashions - a 14-8 slugfest victory on Friday and a 2-1 duel on Saturday. In their latest triumph, the Red Sox got a stellar effort from Curt Schilling, who allowed only one run and three hits in seven innings. Kevin Youkilis had an RBI single and Jason Varitek added a run-scoring double for Boston, which won its third straight. The Red Sox will try to maintain their solid play of late behind Tim Wakefield (0-1, 17.18 ERA), who hopes to rebound from a horrendous season debut. The veteran knuckleballer was torched for seven runs in 3 2/3 innings of Tuesday's 10-4 setback vs. Texas. Baltimore will counter with Rodrigo Lopez (1-0, 6.43), who is 10-5 with a 3.78 ERA against the Red Sox. He faced them five times last season, going 2-2 with a 3.90 ERA. The Mexican righthander yielded six runs in seven innings in his season debut but still got the victory in Monday's 9-6 triumph against Tampa Bay.
  14. I say keep Pap in the closer role until we have someone as capable (consistently dominant) to replace him. Be it Foulke or Lester or Hanson or Me. Whatever, for this year, but next year Pap is in the rotation after Beckett.
  15. Can you believe Lester is supposed to be even better???
  16. Wow. Schilling could not do that last year. This season's looking pretty f***ing good right now.
  17. First thing I thought of when Tek slammed into the wall was Bill Mueller shattering his knee cap. ugh.
  18. whiffeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!
  19. youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuk!
  20. What did Tom Caron just say during the break a minute ago??? I missed most of it but it sounds like they are going to try and get the game in (?)
  21. Yeah, I just checked weather.com and it says it's going to rain until at least 6pm. Not sure we'll get this one in. If it's the same system that came through the south last night, I really doubt it because of all the lightening.
