  1. The Red Sox are pitching lights-out! In the last 9 games they are 8-1. The starters are on a streak of 32 straight scoreless innings. The Bullpen is on a streak of 30 1/3 straight scoreless innings. Has the bullpen even lost a game since the home opener???
  2. Dauber just scored. 3-0. Kim actually pitched pretty damn good.
  3. too damn funny
  4. Maybe we'll even get a chance to knock down Zim!
  5. Gulp. http://www.mannyramirez.com
  6. Great weekend... hangover.. killing.. me.. uhhh.
  7. Let him boycott. He's going in as a Sox.
  8. Wow. Roger is 4-0. Ya know, I still pull for the guy. I don't know why. Maybe it's because he's a Sox prospect who is a HOFer. Wouldn't it have been nice to have Roger and Pedro in '99?
  9. Ahhh.. Salad Days! How great is it, RSN, to wake up knowing your team just SPANKED 190 Million dollar team. Not only do you get to enjoy the memory of the game, but you get to see and read the highlights on on every Boston paper AND New York paper. My god are they in fear! What a great day. Only 5 hours till game 2. Somehow the coffee tastes a little bit sweeter this morning.
  10. Just let me know when you're going and I'll tell ya what to do. It would really be cool.
  11. I found this link of Quicktime 360 VRs someone made. It's a cool idea. Click on one of the numbers on the Fenway map on the right. http://pwrsearchr.users1.50megs.com/bosox/...vr/bosoxvr.html BTW, if anybody is interested in taking the pictures (i'm in GA) and sending them to me, I'd be more than happy to make a few of Fenway and we can post it on this site. I have all the software and am much better in Photoshop than the guy who's link I just posted. I'll even tell ya exactly how to take the pictures!
  12. Yeah, I read about Vaz moving up to face Pedro. Take it all in guys. When was the last time the Yankees and their fans were this worried this early in the season???? Torre is tinkering with Contraras, he's moving starters around to match up better with OUR pitching! Has that ever happened before? I don't know, I work off of vibes half the time. My vibe for this weekend isn't so good. Millar is in a terrible funk. Bellhorn can walk, but he's Reese with the bat. The bottom third of the lineup is tanking right now. Thankfully, the pen is in fine shape and on a hot streak. Tek's getting hot, my man Mueller is coming on. I'm hoping for 2 outa 3, would love a sweep but I doubt that will happen. I'll miss the chants of "Click, Click, ClickClickClick - You're On Ster-roids! Click, Click, ClickClickClick... " GO RED SOX!
  13. You can never have too many hard throwing left-handed pitchers in the AL East. Especially when you play in Yankee Stadium as much as Boston does...
  14. Yes. You are right. But as far as managing, I don't mind this. First, Schilling was rested enough. He was yanked too early last start and had 8 innings in him. His job tonight was to save the bullpen. He did it. Second, it saves the pen for the Yanks this weekend *this is big*- with Lowe, Arroyo and Pedro going. It gives a home win to Theo's good friend JP finally... (politics in baseball are highly ignored) It - to me - brings everybody back to earth. They will be out to win tomorrow night. Schilling pitched well, but the offense was bad. What the hell's up with Bellhorn? Is he TRYING to walk every at bat??? Between Pokey and Bellhorn, you have 75% of one good player... But in the end, the Sox head to NY hungry for a win, with a fresh pen. Bring on Friday night. Tonight was a healthy loss.
  15. Anyone see the new NESN ad? The one about A-Rod and "Round 2" this weekend? That's probably the best NESN ad I've seen. It ROCKS!!!!!!
  16. Yeah, but it's good to know these sox can take care of business even when the energy level is down. WAY down, really, after last weekend. Last year's Sox had trouble in series like this one. But I agree on the crowd. I stay awake by staring at the hottie behind the plate. She (or someone like her) is there every year.
  17. Yeah, Foulke is even better than I thought he'd be! But what I'm really digging is this Pedro, Wake, Schilling rotation. Wake looks like he's going to have a great year. I think the move between Pedro and Schilling will not only help him, but will help Schilling too if they pitch in the same series like this week.
  18. I think any Sox star or fan fav knows there really is only one thing that can make you a villain in our eyes. If you go to NY, you're selling out. And you deserve the boos. Hell, even Tony Clark - a guy I pulled for to get out of his funk - is evil now that he's a Yankster.
  19. Did Mo get booed after he left? Those are my lost sox years...
  20. Things are much better after last night It's games like Thursday nights game that make me glad I don't live near any bridges... Sorry if I posted like a fool that night.
  21. Because we are not mean fans, we are smart and sarcastic fans... even jerks. But not truly mean - though we may want to act like it sometimes (Steroid chants!) I think a lot of it has to do with perspective and time. Before the error, Billy Buck was loved. He killed the Yankees that year and Boston may not have made the playoffs without him. How could you not love a guy so hobbled but who played so hard and well despite it? After the error, RSN (much smaller then BTW) realised it was Buck/Mac/Stanley - well basically a team meltdown to another team that all along was supposed to win it all anyway. Didn't the Mets that year win 110 games?? Same thing with Wake. Without him there is no way there would have been a game 7. He should never have had the chance to pitch in that game. It was over. I also think that, if the Red Sox were going to lose that game, at 12pm that night the best option was to go with Wake. He had been on a great run and he could go long if he had to. Wakes also got the luxury of that fascinating knuckleball. He's so good when it's on, but we all know the thing is floating up there on a wing and a prayer. If anything, blame the knuckleball and not the guy who threw it.
  22. Man I hope you're right. Welcome MasterFlash.
  23. Now Castillo's on. WOOHOO. Frankona is an idiot. What I love the most now is that, even though they had the last 3 days off, the bullpen will be gassed again before the second game of the Yankee series. Great.
