  1. I think we've seen the last of Lopez for the night. 1 hour is kinda a lot to ask for a pitcher.
  2. I'm not too worried about the bullpen. Most of the runs or inherated runs scored (except for Foulke on Friday) have come off of mop up guys giving the regulars a break. I mean Mendoza, Leskanik, Adams and Malaska have been in like the last 4 games.
  3. Well, Trots out with a "grade 2 tear" of his quad. The two weeks seems quite unrealistic considering he's said it hurts more now than it has at any point this year. There's still talk of bringing on Kent, and the focus of trade debate has shifted, it seems, from another pitcher or 1st baseman to a replacement right fielder. I know we have an extra guy in the pen to help out with the bullpen being gassed (I think it's Malaska), but when the bullpen gets back on it's feet and Malaska (or Mendoza, or whoever) gets sent back down I think the Sox should consider this: Bring up Daubach. Everyone seems to think he and Nixon are very close offensively. Dauber can play 1b, left and right reasonably well. It would allow the focus of trade talks to go back to pitching - which I think is more important than another bat. Plus, Daubach's doing pretty good in Pawtucket. .296, 12hr, 51rbi, .427obp, .566slg. He should be up pretty soon considering all the suspensions coming down this week. I say if he plays ok, the search for a Nixon replacement should be the least of the trade rumors. Anybody feel the same way?
  4. http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/arodpunch.gif Had to post it
  5. I love all things Boston, but I hate John Kerry... He's a doofus.
  6. sweeeeet! Thanks for the update. You know, Cooperstown is a great place, but it's no Barry Bonds.
  7. Joe Morgan may know baseball, but he's no Barry Bonds
  8. Good god, man. It's only noon and you're already drunk??? Gotta love Sundays! Leave it to a true leader like Tek to spark the team - something Francona couldn't do. I would love to see Tek come back in 10 years after he's retired and manage the Sox. He could be the next Joe Torre. Great win. Great game. Great comeback. Great fight. Tonight could be the bean-ball game from hell. If so, I hope somebody lets one fly into the ESPN booth and knocks Joe Morgan on is stupid fat ass.
  9. Thanks, man. Sounds like the Sox won the fight.
  10. details anyone? give me blow-for-blow! PLEASE!
  11. Can someone detail the fight for me? I can't watch the game because it's blacked out. It sounds like A-Rod started it and Tek did what he could to protect Arroyo. The radio guys mentioned Kapler and Sturts going at it. What did it look like?
  12. Joe Buck is a Red Sox fan. That's the only saving grace for me.
  13. Thanks. What play by play Gameday app do you use? I was using the ESPN one, but it's too slow. Same for the CNNSI one..
  14. f***. I just found out tomorrows Fox game is blacked out in my area. It's Phillies and Cubs or nothing. Bastards. Probably the same for DDM.
  15. Nice win for Wake. Hey, I noticed something tonight... Everyone including myself joked about Alverez's hat, but does anybody else notice that lefty Allen Embree has a hat that has the B sewn slightly off center - to the right? Lefty pitchers are weird.
  16. Wow. Never thought I'd hear that from you... My point all along is "what is he worth?" 17.5/year? Hell no. Not anymore. 10-13, ok, but I don't think he'll take it. There's a lack of pitching in the league (which is why they should raise the mound by 3 inches, but that's another story...), and Pedro, however deminished, is still one of the best. It's just that nobody is worth more than 13 Million in this day and age (unless, of course, they raise the mound).
  17. What is Driver 3? Killing French people always seems cool - and it's something I've always wanted to do... I just got Painkiller. F-n sweet HL engine driven game. You're a hitman from Heaven killing zombies and s*** with witches flying around! Quite a fun game.
  18. (sarcasm)
  19. C'mon! If the Sox go 45-25 the rest of the way, they'll tie last years win total! Don't give up now! (At least you won't have to worry about your heart being torn out in October)
  20. Three more weeks. I'm actually looking forward to it, with all the new guys.
  21. Ok. Alvarez... I actually thought he pitched OK. I'd immediately throw out the first inning along with all the HRs. Jitters if you ask me. He's not ready yet, the walks hurt him, but he was impressive when dealt with a problem. He pitched out of jams surprisingly well. I'd say the rest of the year in AA and start him off in AAA next year. We may see him early next year if he's not dealt.
  22. I'll post my post later. I have a way of saying something about a player, then the EXACT opposite is proven. So I will post my thoughts after the game (as if ya cared).
  23. Easy. He also leads, by a lot, every other player in the AL with 106 Ks in only 338 AB - 43 of those Ks with runners on base! But yeah, I'll forgive all those rally killing Ks because he's from Boston
