  1. Well this is a nice way to wake up.
  2. Well, I'm done. 11am meeting in the AM. Sox down 5-3. Uhhhhhhhh.
  3. Damon and Rent score. Two walks by Zito. 2-0 Sox.
  4. Rent double. Damon to third. Oh sweeet. I get to watch the Nesn broadcast tonight! I haven't heard Orsillo and Remy since last Wednesday. MLB extra innings.
  5. I don't know. If anything, the Red Sox are due. They could have easily won the last two games. If I'm to win the H/BB contest, the bats need to wake up - epsecially if Wells goes tomorrow.
  6. Barry Zito (1-4, 5.54 ERA) faces the Red Sox for the second time in a week. The 27-year-old lefthander, who won the American League Cy Young Award in 2002, surrendered four runs and nine hits in six innings against Boston on Wednesday. Matt Clement (4-0, 3.06) also faced Zito on Wednesday and yielded just one run and struck out four in seven innings. He was denied a victory when closer Keith Foulke allowed four runs in the top of the ninth. Boston rallied for a 6-5 win in the bottom half when Jason Varitek belted a game-winning homer against closer Octavio Dotel . It was the second time in as many games that Dotel allowed a ninth-inning game-winning blast to the Red Sox . However, Dotel managed to record his seventh save in Monday's 6-4 victory over Boston. Despite putting runners on second and third with two outs, Dotel induced Bill Mueller to fly out to left field, ending the A's losing streak. BOSTON RED SOX J. Damon E. Renteria D. Ortiz M. 7. That is so utterly unoriginal. Boston Dirt Dogs posted the Red Sox version of that last August. But yes, I'd have to say the Yanks are officially in the rear view mirror after last year. http://bostondirtdogs.boston.com/Headline_Archives/Daily_Headlines_August_2004.html
  8. heyyyyyy. Welcome.
  9. Observations: I hate the west coast games (have I mentioned that?) Myers didn't pitch that badly. Blooper and then the exploding bat hit. Nixon looked terrible on that Kotsay double with the bases loaded. He was limping pretty good out there and it probably allowed the third run to score. I'm worried. Win the next two and the Sox go home .500 for the trip. (Clement/Wells) I can't remember a Sox offense that has as consistantly loaded the bases like this team. Manny's already been up like 7 times with the bases loaded. Anybody know where I can go to find out just how many times this team has loaded the bases this year? Waking up to a loss after going to be with a lead is not as bad as watching the team lose. But it still sucks. I don't feel like going to work today.
  10. Back to +4 with ortiz at 4 hits.
  11. Yup, and so I can go to bed in the 6th and not worry about it.
  12. Mehhh. I just woke up. 4-1, Seattle? Whaaaaa?
  13. http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/4906.jpg Tim Wakefield 4-1, 3.18 VS http://espn.go.com/i/mlb/profiles/players/6266.jpg Gil Meche 2-2, 5.14 SEATTLE (Ticker) -- Manny Ramirez has a chance to reach a milestone when the Boston Red Sox close out their three-game series against the Seattle Mariners at Safeco Field on Sunday. Ramirez needs one more home run to become the 39th player to reach 400 in his career. He belted his 399th in the sixth inning of Boston's 6-3 win on Saturday. Ramirez had a chance for his 19th career grand slam in the seventh inning, but struck out. Trot Nixon came up after Ramirez and hit the grand slam that proved to be the difference for the Red Sox, who have won four of their last five games and nine of 11. Tim Wakefield (4-1, 3.18 ERA) will be on the mound Sunday attempting to win for the fifth time in his last seven starts. The knuckleballer, who won his last two starts, allowed three runs in six innings in a 13-5 win against Oakland last Monday. Seattle, which has lost 11 of its last 13 contests, counters with Gil Meche (2-2, 5.14). In his last outing, the righthander allowed three runs in 6 2/3 innings against the New York Yankees on Monday, but that doesn't mean anything because the Yankees suck. Meche hopes to win his first home game of the season. He is 0-2 with a 7.29 ERA in four starts at Safeco Field.
  14. After two games it's H/BB 32-29 if favor of Boston (+3) with Ortiz having 1 hit.
  15. AHHHHHH. And Trot Grand Slam!
  16. Yeah, they say that on a road trip to the other coast that it takes two days to shake off the time difference. We'll see. They did score 7 runs though, and every pitcher they pitched last night has some sort of issue. I'm a little worried about Cla. It's always cool to see a young guy up, especially after flying through the minors. But it's just too soon for him. I guess if he fully develops, he could be a BK Kim type pitcher in a few years (the good Kim). But I just have a problem with submariners. He's gone by Wed anyway, but it's too bad he couldn't have at least 1 good inning.
  17. Sweet. So the Yanks are only 7 games out now .
  18. Only if when you say "if Foulke falters?" you mean falters through August. He's safe for a while and he'll be fine. He just needs to find location.
  19. I took care of him last year. http://www.talksox.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1171
  20. Whiffleball and Pocket Pool. That's about it.
  21. Frank in his street clothes http://www.ratspacnw.org/images/rat.jpg
  22. Can we use negative numbers for Rat-boy? I vote: - 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Hah, I remember at some point early last year after a lousy Arroyo outing, somebody on baseball.com suggested replacing him with old Rat-boy. I gotta go find that post. I think it was Steve.
  23. Wow, he's what? Like 8 for 10 in save opportunities? I guess there's nothing left to complain about right now with the team so lets call for Foulke's head because he's off to a rocky start. Anyone notice that we are 1 game better than we were at this point last year? Only ONE GAME. Let's fire Francona while we are at it!!!!!!!!!
  24. I recorded it and just finished it. Great game!
