  1. Well, they left Damon at 3rd without scoring. That Braves pitcher, a rookie, gets out of the inning. He must be real happy Mondesi threw the 3rd out ball into the right field stands.
  2. Yup. Yanks lose 7-1 . Like I said before, tonights game is so ripe.
  3. Atlanta Braves (23-18) @ Boston Red Sox (24-17) http://www.cyberman-online.de/south_park_kyle.gifhttp://www.giantsequoia.com/assets/TransparentSpacer.gifhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/4906.jpg Rookie Kyle Davieshttp://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif Tim Wakefield (major league debut) http://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif(4-2) 3.61 ERA • When; where: 7:05 p.m. Saturday; Fenway Park. • Probable starters: RHP Kyle Davies (major league debut) vs. RHP Tim Wakefield (4-2, 3.61). • Davies update: The 21-year-old Decatur native is set to make his big-league debut at Fenway Park. Davies was 2-1 with a 4.78 ERA in eight starts at Class AAA Richmond, struggling in his last two after an outstanding April. He had a 2.57 ERA before giving up 13 hits, 13 earned runs and 10 walks in 8 1/3 innings of those last two games. He had a .267 opponents average and ranked third in the International League with 38 strikeouts in 43 1/3 innings. • Wakefield update: He's 2-2 with a 5.40 ERA in his past four starts, allowing 34 hits and nine walks in 26-2/3 innings over that stretch. Seattle amassed 11 hits and five runs in seven innings of a victory against him Sunday. The veteran knuckleballer is 3-3 with a 4.47 ERA in 12 games (five starts) against the Braves, no starts since 2000. Raul Mondesi is 5-for-25 with a homer against him, Julio Franco is 4-for-17, Chipper Jones is 2-for-7, and Andruw Jones is 2-for-8. Ripe for the picking if you ask me.
  4. THAT does not bother me one bit . Cuz it's like, so true!
  5. When I was growing up in CT, it used to be that 38 did almost all the games. Then NESN came along and was a pay channel, but 38 still did a game or two a week including every Friday night. Nesn's now free (right?), but 38 still gets the Friday night games as sort of tradition. It bugs me too as MLB Extra innings is only allowed to show Nesn games so they show the Friday games with Nesn's game interface and none of the 38 graphics. That means that if Remy starts talking about someones stats and they show a graphic of what the player has done, I don't see it. And every time Remy or Orsillo do an on-air advertisment, the Nesn version cuts away to a pre-recorded ad, then cuts back to the game already in progress. Sucks. But better than nothing...
  6. You're lucky. You got it done when you were young. My jaw snaps sometimes (I can feel it coming on but can't stop it) because I still have all my wisdom teeth. I don't get it though... My bottom teeth are all messed up, but my top teeth are perfectly straight. I can see removing the top wisdom teeth but why remove the bottom ones? The rest of the teeth are all British by now anyway. It's a stinky shithole in there. :dunno:
  7. I need to get that done. I hear it's not so painfull, but the "cleaning of the holes" is quite disgusting. Like squirting water in your tooth holes to clean them out so they heal. Ewww. Hope all goes well.
  8. Wisdom teeth? I need to get that done. On top of like 4 other tooth problems. Is that why you were "out of commission"?
  9. yeth. TBS. It was actually pretty cool. The Braves announcers have switched so it was the radio guys on TBS. They talked up Fenway so well, it took the sting out of missing Remy and O-Dawg.
  10. SAHWEEEEEEEEEEEET. My bet works out. I'll owe no more than $20 and could win $120. Braves lose 4-3.
  11. I thought 38 did the Friday night games... :dunno:
  12. Damn dead around here considering the Sox are up 4-0 with Miller throwing a no-..... Shhhhhhhhh
  13. I just heard it confirmed on WEEI. You can listen to them here. mms://wmc1.liquidviewer.net/WEEI
  14. With a wrist injury. According to BDD, Shawn Wooten is being called up to replace him. I guess it makes sense they wouldn't call up Shoppach if he's only going to play every 5th day and have to catch Wake when he does. Too bad though, it would have been cool for Shoppach. Anybody hear how bad the injury is?
  15. I think last year he actually had a much higher batting average from the #2 slot but for some reason he prefers batting down in the lineup. I like the fact he's kind of hidden down there.
  16. Atlanta Braves (23-7) @ Boston Red Sox (23-7) http://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6245.jpghttp://www.giantsequoia.com/assets/TransparentSpacer.gifhttp://i.a.cnn.net/si/images/baseball/mlb/players/6270.jpg Tim Hudson http://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif Wade Miller (4-2) 3.18 ERAhttp://www.public.iastate.edu/~aslagell/sumr212/spacer.gif(0-0) 4.22 ERAhttp://www.familymatters.tv/navbar/spacer.gif When; where: 7:05 p.m. Friday; Fenway Park. Series history: The Braves have won 22 of 33 between the teams in interleague play since 1997, and are 8-2 with a 2.39 ERA in the past 10. The Braves swept a three-game series at Boston in June 2002, their last visit to venerable Fenway. Worth noting: The defending World Series champions are 12-6 since April 30 despite a 5.04 ERA. They've hit .280 and averaged 5.7 runs in that span. . . . The Red Sox are 11-5 with a 3.88 ERA at Fenway, 12-12 with a 5.33 ERA on the road. They've hit 22 homers at home and 23 on the road, while their pitchers have given up only nine homers in 144 innings at home and 29 in 204-1/3 innings on the road. . . . They are fifth in the AL in average (.274) and second in runs, but eighth in starters ERA (4.51) and next-to-last in relief ERA (5.20). . . . RHP Curt Schilling (ankle) is on the DL. Starters: C Jason Varitek, 1B Kevin Millar, 2B Mark Bellhorn, 3B Bill Mueller, SS Edgar Renteria, LF Manny Ramirez, CF Johnny Damon, RF Trot Nixon, DH David Ortiz. Who's hot: Nixon is 22-for-53 (.415) with four homers and 15 RBIs in his past 14 games.... Damon is second in the AL with a .400 home average and also has a team-high .395 average with runners in scoring position.... Varitek has batted .361 with two homers and a .429 on-base percentage in his past 10 games. Who's not: Ramirez is 7-for-44 (.159) with three homers and 15 strikeouts in his past 14 games. . . . Millar is 3-for-24 (.125) with one RBI in seven games. . . . OF Jay Payton is 6-for-40 (.150) with one extra-base hit (double) in 16 games. Friday's pitching matchup: Hudson is 2-2 with a 5.87 ERA and .330 opponents' average in his past four starts. Lefties are hitting .320 against him, and he's allowed a .406 average in the first inning. He's 3-5 with a 5.87 ERA in eight starts vs. Boston, his worst against any team in more than one decision. He went 0-2 with a 15.43 ERA in two starts against the Red Sox last season. Hudson is 1-3 with an 8.53 ERA in four starts at Fenway Park. Ortiz is 7-for-23 with a homer against him, Ramirez 8-for-24, and Damon 5-for-17. . . . Miller has no decisions in only two starts (both vs. Seattle) while allowing eight hits and three walks with 11 strikeouts in 10-2/3 innings. Lefties are 2-for-20 with eight strikeouts against him. He's 1-3 with a 6.66 ERA in five starts vs. Atlanta, his highest ERA against any team he's faced more than once. He was 0-2 with a 12.86 ERA in his last two starts against them in 2003. Chipper Jones is 7-for-14 against him; Rafael Furcal is 2-for-11 with a homer, and Andruw Jones is 4-for-12.
  17. They'll be in section 18 all decked out in red Braves jersies/caps. You'll probably see his wife - she's pretty hot.
  18. I got it recorded on DVD, but it's a VHS tape transfer on SLP, so the quality isn't impressive, but it does the job. DLowe coming out (for me) is the best part. The stupid song they wrote and played for it, well, you're better off not hearing it.
  19. Somebody should find out how Kapler's doing in Japan and post his stats. Anyway, I've been to 2 or 3 Boston @ Atlanta games. I think the Braves have won each of those games I'm really looking forward to this weekend. I know the Braves pretty well and it really should be a great series with a lot of pitching. Either team can take 2 outa 3, but I doubt the Braves can sweep Boston at home, whoever is pitching (BRING IN KOLBE ). So I got some money on it. I convinced a friend of mine who's a Brave fan to A) Visit Fenway with his wife this Sunday, and B ) bet me $20/game with an additional $100 tossed in for a sweep. LETS GO BATS! NO RAIN! Bring it on. Oh, I also can't wait to play the Cubs. That will be sweet. "As of April 17th, Yomiuri Giants is 5th place with 7-8 record. Gabe is 7-for-54, BA of .129 2 HR, 5 RBI, 1 SB, 3 GIDP, 5 runs." :what:
  20. Actually, Harden would have been the game 3 pitcher instead of that dude yesterday.
  21. I'd keep Timlin.
  22. -6, Ortiz 5 Am I right or drunk?
  23. Yeah, but today's problems were because of Wells. I honestly believe that the only reason he's back so early is because he wants his inscentives. It's all based on innings ya know. Just like he started the season, expect another bad start or two before he gets going. I don't think there's any better proof than today that he needed a rehab start before coming back. Way to earn 1.1 innings.
  24. check the second post down. http://www.ballparkguys.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=41;t=004746;p=
  25. now it's +6, Ortiz 5. One game to go!
