  1. I think you have to take the guy with the Tomlinson potential and trade Davis for a second rounder. 3 picks in the first 2 rounds won't hurt them.
  2. Somehow I won't put the blame on Barry. A good running game is a damn good foundation for a championship team.
  3. f***in idiot. Well at least ND doesn't have to face Clarett today.
  4. It is a little early to put him in Sanders class, but I think the comparisons are fair. Bush is the most outstanding back to come out in a long time, and when you can take the closest thing to a sure bet in the draft you should do it. The Texans aren't one offensive lineman away from winning it all, so you take the best player on the board. They can trade Davis for an extra pick.
  5. Win Shares basically try to encompass every aspect of statistics (offense, defense, pitching) into telling how good a player is. The premise behind them is solid, but is a work in progress. These are the 2005 Win Shares http://www.hardballtimes.com/winshares/index.php I like them for the most part, and put a pretty good deal of stock into them.
  6. What's your opinion on Mattingly?
  7. Another solid move from the Mets, I don't see many holes in them at this point.
  8. How good is Manny going to be in '07, and what kind of players can you get back for Manny that would likely be better than him in '07. Those should be the only things you consider.
  9. I love Cairo, good pickup.
  10. Good call. If they are intent on bringing in high level prospects, Manny is a damn good chip.
  11. Dude, just let it go. We have very peacefully coexisted with Sox fans on this board for some time without any fuss over user names, signatures, etc. What difference does it make? It is far more productive to talk about baseball- why a team/player is better than another, why a move was good or bad, why Johnny Damon talks like a retard. These are the things that make for interesting discussion, not trying to argue that the first 22 World Series don't count because you don't remember them. So let's move on, k?
  12. He should prove he can play before getting a contract. If Giambi was a free agent last season he would have been in the same scenario.
  13. That's assuming these guys hit the free agent market. If you remember, Johan Santana and Ben Sheets were supposed to be free agents this year too.
  14. Talkyankee places are filled with bandwagon fans and idiots, and are rarely fun. What's the fun in arguing with people who agree with you?
  15. You are an idiot. Seriously, why does it bother you the Yankees have 26 World Championships or the fact that a Yankee fan would be proud of it? No matter how much you try to rationalize or argue otherwise, the Yankees still have 26 World Championships.
  16. haha, well I'd much prefer having too many arms than too few. We'll have to trade somebody out of ST, I'd prefer to take the 6 best relievers, regardless of what arm they throw with.
  17. hahah, yeah my dad's a smart guy. edit- too bad it skips a generation
  18. wait let me guess, somebody from the 50s. Now that is a relevant test of somebody's baseball knowledge. (asked my pops, he said Reynolds)
  19. give it a shot, go on.
  20. Useless, DFA, Columbus.. something like that. We can't go with a 12 man pen, so you take the best 11 guys.
  21. I'd love to do that too, but I've got too much to do. As for the rotation, my ideal would be- Johnson Mussina Pavano Chacon Wang Bullpen of Small Wright Sturtze Myers Farnsworth Rivera I really don't see the value in Wright, but I don't think he's tradeable. I'd prefer to give him a shot in the bullpen because the other 5 guys are more qualified to pitch in the rotation. Going into the season with that and I'd be content.
  22. How has this lasted 5 pages without going to fights and crap? However you guys feel like justifying it is fine, but this is fighting over semantics. The arguments go "26 WORLD SERIZ, YOU ONLY GOTZ 6!, LOLZ!" "WELL WE WON iN 2004, SO WE'Z BETTR!" "BOONE ROXORZ UR BOXORZ!" "PFFF AROD IZ HAXOR" "LAME, WE HAS DAMON! U HAS 2 TRADe MANNY 2! LOLZA" "BECKETT OWNZ YANKEZ, CHOKZERS!" Ok, we get it. Each team has their strong and weak points. Let's see how they do in '06. ps-woohoo 1,000 posts.
  23. When he hits .260 for the year you let me know, k? We've dealt with a bad arm for about 15 years now, I don't think it's going to bother Yankee fans.
  24. Matsui has a good enough arm, he hasn't cost us games because of it so I'm not concerned about it.
  25. And I'm sure his $12 Million extra dollars will help sooth his pain. (and his 2 other World Series rings )
