  1. out of anyone i've seen? hmm... i might have to go with varitek as well, although i did love mo back in the day, clemens too, before he turned mercenary. i also liked boggs and greenwell if i recall correctly
  2. i agree that pedro's K numbers will go down, but he should probably still be near the top of the league
  3. nice... hope i can get to a couple games this year...
  4. sounds interesting... i've been getting a little sick of TedNation every night.
  5. Unfortunately, i'd have to go with magglio-arod. arod is better than nomar, and i'd call magglio equal to manny. either way, i think the sox will be just fine with what they've got.
  6. regardless, we all know what pedro's capable of. assuming he puts up maybe 15 wins, 2.50 - 3.00 era, which he should minimum, he probably will get resigned, and has acknowleged that he will probably have to take a pay cut.
  7. i guess insane amounts of offense are more exciting to the casual fan, but i think, and correct me if i'm wrong, that any real fan would rather see quality pitching. "Pitching wins championships."
  8. Think I'd still rather have Pujols.
  9. I have a lot of cards, signed stuff, etc. I haven't gotten anything new for a couple years, though.
  10. I bet it won't happen. The Sox would either have to give up monster prospects, or soem damn good player(s). I doubt Theo is all that interested in trading for a 40-year-old guy anyway (even if he IS ridiculously nasty)
  11. hey ben, how's it going?
  12. Boo. Canadiens. Boo.

    Ty Law

I'd have no problem giving Ty a long-term deal, except for a couple things: 1. He's old. Like, old enough that I wouldn't take him in Madden old. 2. He wants a lot of money. As much money as Champ Bailey. Except that Bailey is younger and better. 3. He's going after Belicheck personally. That's one thing I won't tolerate. In Bill We Trust.
  14. The steroids issue is never going to go away. People will always be speculating on who took what when. But even if they are banned, and there's a big power outage in baseball, I think a well-pitched game is better than a slugfest anyway.
  15. Last season was funny. Damn, twelve teams? Good luck keeping track of them all... Fantasy baseball is awesome, but it sometimes controls my life and tells me to burn things. Or maybe that's just the voices in my head. Wait, what?
  16. Pedro was fine. It was bad weather, and it took him a while to get warm. I have no problem with that. Timlin, however, kind of sucked the big one. And the offense couldn't get going. I'm not a doomsday Sox fan, and I still think the Sox can and will go far, if not win it all, but yesterday just sucked.
  17. Did anyone read Moneyball? Beane calls him Euclis, the Greek God of walks
  18. I think the Sox can deal with Pedro and Lowe leaving. After all, they always can just sign another or something. Nomar, they could also deal with, if Hanley ever grows up. But Varitek... Shoppach won't be ready for a while, and I agree with CalvinHobs: Tek is the heart and soul of the team.
