  1. Coco looks relieved. First hit of the season, and it counts.
  2. What's interesting is that it's not even overworking him. It's just working him. He regularly throws a ridiculous amount of pitches. But Tito needs to be careful with him getting American rest versus Japanese rest - 5 man vs 6 man.
  3. There we go big Papi. He's certainly glad to see Greinke go.
  4. Let's not overlook Greinke. He's really matched Dice K for the most part, and this was a big start for him after his troubles last year.
  5. I think it was an okay idea to bring him back for another inning. 7 IP 6 H 1 ER 1 BB 10 Ks.
  6. 10 Ks!!!! I need to change my pants.
  7. Does shealy remind anyone else of Dante Bichette?
  8. Also, I've had mlb.tv for three years, and I bought a month of premium this year. It's much better than regular. I haven't tried mosaic yet, but the quality is definitely noticably better.
  9. This game is way more fun to watch than my organizational behavior lecturer. Ahhh, laptops and wireless internet. f***in' lugo. That's okay.
  10. I think I'm falling in love with Dustin Pedroia. Everyone's gotta like the pesky 9 hitter. The kid's only 23.
  11. Is he done after this for sure? I mean, we know this guy can throw more than 96 pitches. But I feel pretty okay with him coming out now.
  12. Why is Dice-K doing this? He needs to settle down a little bit. Take a couple deep breaths on the mound and get control of this game again.
  13. STRIKE EM OUT THROW EM OUT BOOYAH! Nice going Dice K and Tek.
  14. Ouch. Dice-K's first sign that he's not from a different planet.
  15. I've given up on him. I'd love to see him succeed, but I don't feel good about it.
  16. Anyone else want to see WMP in there instead of Coco?
  17. From the rest of that blog: Did anyone else completely forget that he was a part of our organization? Just me?
  18. My brief thoughts on Papelbon: Two years ago, I was told this kid was the next Roger Clemens. Last year, I was told he could be the best closer of all time. This year, I'm told they're going to start him, then close him, then maybe switch him back at some point...who knows. My opinion: don't ruin this kid's career. Whichever path he chooses with the team, he will be the next Roger Clemens. Or the next Mariano Rivera. Just let him develop into one, and stop f***ing with him. I like seeing him close, as he likes closing. So I guess that's where I'm at.

  20. The conference call is complete: Sox to make 'record' offer Red Sox GM Theo Epstein in a post-midnight conference call described the dramatic turn that took place last night in the negotiations for Daisuke Matsuzaka, saying that with John W. Henry providing the plane, he and CEO Larry Lucchino flew to southern California, unsolicited, for a meeting with agent Scott Boras in the Daisuke Matsuzaka negotiations. Epstein said the team plans to make another offer tomorrow, one that will be the largest ever given to a player who has never played in the big leagues, and the largest given to a Japanese player. But it remains to be seen if that will satisfy Boras, who has made the case that Matsuzaka is one of the game's elite pitchers and should be paid as such, with no weight given to the size of the bid the Sox paid for exclusivity to negotiate with him. That $51.1 million, Boras has stated, is just another indication of how valuable a talent Matsuzaka said. A feisty John W. Henry, frustration evident in his voice, said: ""I think it's also fair to say we're on Scott Boras's doorstep because he hasn't negotiated with us so far. We're taking the fight directly to him to try to have a negotiation here."
  21. I came back just for you, Daveeeeyyyy.
