  1. Don't you dare score six runs unless you're going to score seven.
  2. I think that I just spaced out. Weird.
  3. Hey man! I go to Wash U, so we see a bunch of Mizzou kids around here. Glad to see more Bostonians out here. Also, I'm moving this to the introductions area, but welcome!
  4. I am just all smiles right now. Jon Lester ALDS: 14 IP, 0 ER, 11 Ks.
  5. More... http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/baseball/red_sox/view/2008_09_28_Source:_Josh_Beckett_has_oblique_injury:_Sox_ace_may_be_in_hole/srvc=home&position=1 Granted, it's also from the Boston Herald. This really, really sucks, I hope it isn't true.
  6. http://www.bostonherald.com/blogs/sports/red_sox/index.php/2008/09/28/beckett-could-be-out-for-postseason/ This would be most, most unfortunate.
  7. Haha, whoooops. But yeah, you know what I mean.
  8. 3 games back, Lester on the mound, JASON BAY in left. Win.
  9. I was at the game, and WHAT A GAME. There was so much energy every time Bay stepped up to the plate, people are excited about him.
  10. And to this I say, f*** YOU MANNY RAMIREZ AND SCOTT BORAS. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/articles/2008/08/02/ramxedrez_lobbied_to_stay/
  11. Off to the game! Good luck JBAY
  12. Jason Bay just gave a solid press conference on NESN. He said all of the right things, and it sounds like we'll get to like him.
  13. I just posted this in another thread, but here it is: Mike Lowell is hitting 4th, Bay 5th. I'll infer: Pedroia Youk Ortiz Lowell Bay Drew etc. http://www.boston.com/sports/baseball/redsox/extras/extra_bases/
  14. The joke is that only 38,000 people are happy about Jason Bay.
  15. Yeah, that'll show em!!! I'm Paddy Tanniger, the caddy manager. Yeah it rhymes, big whoop, wanna fight about it?! EDIT: A most heartfelt welcome to the site, by the way.
  16. Let's get post-Manny era off to a good start. It's August 1st, there are 53 games left to play, we are 3 back of the Rays and 1.5 up on the Yanks. We're also 1st in the Wild Card standings, .5 game ahead of Minnesota, but that's not the focus yet. Oakland is a half game below .500, and I really hope we take it to them this series. They should continue to have trouble scoring runs, although they are getting their best hitter back in Frank Thomas tonight, but we're facing their best pitcher, Justin Duchscherer. Tim Wakefield birthday mojo tonight? He turns 42 tomorrow. Hopefully he'll put his last game against Oakland, where he gave up 8 hits and 8 ER in 5 IP, while walking and K-ing 4. It happened to be his worst start of the season. This Oakland team has a combined .892 OPS against Wake. Whoops. Here's to hoping that he also puts last Saturday's start behind him, when we lost 10-3 to the Yanks. And, of course, Jason Bay arrives tonight.
  17. That's what made me look him up, I saw that.
  18. I haven't been keeping up with him too much, but talk about a consistent starter for the Dodgers! He's had ERAs of 3.61, 3.63, 3.88, and 3.74 so far in his four years. WHIPs of 1.25, 1.27, 1.27, 1.19 so far. He's struck out and walked nearly the same amount of batters each year. The only disparity is W/L, and that really has very little to do with him. Crazy consistent.
  19. What could have been a very quiet trade deadline ended up being ridiculous. Look at these names: Ken Griffey Ivan Rodriguez Arthur Rhodes Mark Teixeira Casey Kotchman Casey Blake Xavier Nady Damaso Marte Joe Blanton Rich Harden CC Sabathia. This doesn't even include some serious prospects that have switched teams.
  20. Mark me down as in support of this trade.
