  1. For autographs: your best bet is to get there quite early. Take the tickets too, they sound good.
  2. Last year, Tom Gordon threw 13 1/3 innings against us, striking out 14 and had a 2.03 ERA. He had a 3-1 record. I say they leave Rivera in. He had a 4.22 ERA against us.
  3. From boston.com: Will that mean Jay Payton gets the start?
  4. I have no ill will towards D-Lowe or Pedro. I wish them both the best...until they face us. Then their arms can fall off.
  5. Wow, those are grossly similar. I'm very excited.
  6. Was impressive in his dodgers debut, allowing 2 ER and striking out 6 in 7 IP. However he received the loss due to the outstanding pitching of Jason Schmidt.
  7. The bullpen blew it for him...as much as the Mets improved, without a bullpen, they won't be able to win.
  8. Pedro has 10 K's through 4 1/3 innings. He gave up a 3 run bomb earlier, but 10 Ks on opening day is impressive. That's so far, by the way.
  9. I personally just think it's stupid. But I also don't think it's offensive.
  10. Payton nearly had a triple-double in that one.
  11. It would absolutely affect my view. I think steroids = cheating, and is far worse than betting on baseball. My .02.
  12. Gonzalez looked good, and BK's velocity is back up to close to what it should be. I think he'll make a great righty specialist/long relief for us this year.
  13. It's very nice seeing Tek in the "C" jersey, Youkilis made a nice clean play over at third, and I think Clement's 1-2-3 second inning is what we should mostly expect from him this year. Payton's double wasn't too shabby either.
  14. Oh...my...goodness. I love baseball. hoorayyyyy. FINALLY!!!
  15. And assuming a healthy SP starts 32, that'd be over half the season he missed.
  16. I'm personally very excited about our new trio of starting pitchers. Wells-Clement-Miller. Miller has the biggest upside, and I expect him and Clement to win 15 games apiece.
  17. I think I may have just s*** my pants.
  18. I would love for him to keep playing - and I'm sure he wants to. But not if it could actually kill him.
  19. Beautiful first post. Welcome to the site.
  20. A recent update: I bolded the most important part.
  21. A couple of things regarding your posts - Yes, you CAN say that Arizona's offense sucked. Look at his numbers. Randy probably should have had about 25 wins. All-Star Game counts for nothing. So Randy's old, but he hasn't lost anything...other than all the cartilage in his knee. I like a standout guy, I think that Schilling is just that guy.
  22. A big problem is the rarity of having a stroke at such a young age. Someone on the news said this: It's like a car breaking down at 5,000 miles: you know there's something wrong.
  23. Damn right I did. It was awesome.
  24. I hate predicting things. That said, here are my predictions: AL East: Red Sox AL Central: Minnesota AL West: Anaheim AL Wild Card: Oakland. Oh yes, I went there. Yanks' 67 million dollar rotation a bust. Finish 3rd ALEast to the Sox and Drays. Lovin' it. NL East: Atlanta. It's been said before and will be said again. You just can't dethrone these guys. NL Central: Chicago. I don't know why. Maybe just the idea that Prior-Wood-Zambrano will be effective. NL West: Dodgers. Proabably. But I'd love to see the DBacks turn it around and make this a race to the finish. NL Wild Card: St. Louis. This was a tough one between NY and STL, and I do think Pedro and Carlos will have outstanding seasons, but STL is just a powerhouse. Their offense makes me want to throw up. And I have a tough time predicting against a team with Pujols in their lineup. Playoffs. I don't know. Way too early. That said, here are my predictions: AL Division Boston over Oakland Anaheim over Minnesota AL Championship Boston over Minnesota NL Division Chicago over Atlanta St Louis over Los Angeles NL Championship Chicago over St Louis World Series Boston over Chicago. Booyakasha. Diamondbacks WS Champs '06!!!!! Holler.
