  1. Well I'll be damned. Foulke BETTER close this game out.
  2. Francona is trying to be the anti-grady and take out the starter. IMO he should have left Schill in there. It was obvious he wanted to continue and he definitely had it in him. Michael Young has just owned him today with those 2 hrs. Hopefully foulke doesn't blow it.
  3. It was a perfect game, wasn't it? Oh well, he's still pitching extraordinarily well. If he keeps it up and goes 7 or 8, 3 runs should be plenty. (of course we'll get more, but I'm comfortable as it is)
  4. Wow, I thought for sure we'd get at least one run there, but Drese just struck out the site.
  5. just making sure the rest of the thread still works after I destroyed my post....
  6. His name is Bruce Chen and he pitched in 5 games for the sox last year. Anyway, he's pitched well with Baltimore in his two appearances with them, but before, with Houston he was iffy. He has a career 4.52 ERA so its not like he's a horrible pitcher (vazquez has 4.21), and since the yankees have been playing so horrible as of late, anything can happen. Vazquez has given up 19 runs over his last 4 games, and he was the starter during the 22-0 blowout. Sorry to mess up the formatting in this thread, lol, but this is vazquez's most recent starts. Not too great considering Chen has recently posted a 2.something era. 7. Even though we lost last night this team must still be fired up. I'm hoping for and expecting a win from this team today. Tha yankees have vazquez pitching, lol. 1.5 games anyone?

    2.5

Jesus guys, they haven't blown it yet, get it through your heads. They still hold first place in the east by three losses, so calm down. It's doable, sure, but not a guarantee. Hell, the wild card is still not locked up. Don't set yourself up for heartbreak.
  9. http://espn-att.starwave.com/media/mlb/1999/1017/photo/a_stretch.jpg redux. That was not a f***ing tag. What a crock of s***. There should be man on second, two outs, manny up right now.
  10. phew. Bottom of the ninth, time to buckle down and win this thing. 3 runs!
  11. As exciting as this is, we still need 3 more runs.... And we only have 5 more outs.
  12. Side retired. Yes. Mendoza is god. Time for some offense.

  14. 2 on, no out. Come on Terry. Don't blow what the offense just did, please!
  15. Did anyone see that retard with the sign on top of the monster that read: "attention yankees, objects in mirror appear closer then they are" word for word. Not only did he spell "than" wrong, but he got the whole POINT wrong. We're closer than we appear, not farther away than we appear dumass. But yes, 8-6 is good. We're coming back! Like sarasox said, even if we lose, we just proved we're playing beyond well. Think about it, 1.5 games back of the yankees, who jus tlost 7-0 to the Orioles.
  16. At least the yankees are losing too, right?
  17. Young has been pretty impressive. 3-1 Rangers through 2, hopefully we can come back and win. It's still early.
  18. Hahaha. He punches Jeter, I can picture it now.
  19. Lets go for three sweeps in a row and really put the wildcard out of reach. Game time is at 1:20.
  20. There's also a site at http://www.talkstox.com
  21. Here's the article from the yankees website: And as far as Brown splinting his hand and returning. Whether its true about the double fracture and surgery or not, if he does come back I think it may be even better for us. There's no way he'll pitch at 100 percent with a broken hand weighing him down, and a beat up pitcher pitching when his team has a 2.5 game lead over the Red Sox sounds mighty appealing to me. Hopefully he can start his next game, get shelled, and then maybe be forced to stop for the season. edit: Oy, crespo, shut it. None of that jinxing talk! There is no curse.
  22. You still need to put on a glove, right? Breaking a hand renders you unable to pitch, no matter which hand. I think.
  23. Wow. I thought he would eventually overcome the injury bug that has plagued him for his entire career, but no. He goes and punches a wall. Not the yankees are really REALLY screwed for the playoffs. Sucks for him though, breaking his hand and all. I hope he isnt in TOO much pain.
  24. 2.5 back o' yanks, and we gain a game on Texas. Very good. This game was closer than it should have been though, Wasdin pitched very well.
  25. Mueller makes it 2 hrs now, 2-0 sox.
