Zenny, I'll admit, I have an illegitimate hatred for Nixon. I just don't like him, sorry. And you can put your avatar back you know, that zenny1 guy hasnt showed his face around here for a while.

But if he fails.... does he get fired? It seems like our hopes are so high right now that if we come short of a world series victory we'll be devastated. All the blame will most likely fall on the manager some way or another.

I've never liked Nixon, trade away. Theo traded Nomar, showing that he wasnt afraid to deal fan favorites and mainstays of the team.

Anaheim won today, they're 5 back, and they're on a hot streak. If the sox go cold any time soo, then the WC is not a sure thing by any means.

The sox are pretty much into the playoffs. I'd rather have a healthy ortiz playing in the playoffs than an injured ortiz hurting himself playing in a loss to the mariners in september.

The site seems to have been down for the majority of the day. Anyway, we lost, 2-0. You can't win em all I guess.. Lowe pitched well though.

Sort of like the infield defense. What used to be our weaknesses are now strong points, and with our starters pitching the way they are our bullpen will have very few chances to blow games.

I still voted yankees in this poll. We're still 2.5 back, and they're playing much better than they were. Sure the sox are playing well, but 2.5 games is a lot to make up, even with 6 games against the yankees. Those games will define the AL east for sure, but we can't treat it like a sure thing. I still check Anaheim's box score every night (they're 6 behind right now). Plus, it might be a better thing to win via the wild card, seeing as how badly we've owned Anaheim and Oakland recently, and those are the two teams we could face. I don't want to face the twins, even with home field advantage if we were to win the division.

Lowe has pitched very well recently, and the Sox are on fire. I predict a win.

Anyway, my last post was regarding my hesitation to accept the theory that sandwiching wake in between Schilling and Pedro was a good enough way to throw the opposing team off balance. Putting Pedro and Schlling 1-2, so the opposing team (in the playoffs) would have a tough time winning either of the first two games, would ruffle their feathers more than putting wake in between I think.
