  1. They really haven't faced a knuckler? Where did you find that? If so, thats pretty cool, because those things can confuse the hell out of you, especially in cold weather.
  2. I've seen transcripts of it. It was pretty funny I guess. Good to see our bous all over TV now.
  3. It feels so good to read "world series" in a thread title.
  4. All 3 of those pitchers pale in comparison to Pedro. Beltre though, I wouldn't mind getting him.....
  5. I honestly can say that I'm not anymore. Last year, and for as long as I can remember, I'd readjust my self in my seat or make my brother move his leg if the sox started pitching poorly, or if we were leaving too many runners on base. This year anything goes. I've been watching games on different TVs and running around the house, talking during games, not saying "please please please please please". I used to even blink in a certain way, to a certain beat, if I was REALLY REALLY nervous. Not any more for some reason. :shurg: Maybe the combination of your routines and my lack of them added up to a Red Sox win? Hmm, we should continue this I guess..... And good idea about recording. But, American consumerist that I am, I plan on buying the season DVD a la Patriots when this is all over. I know I'll get chills watching it X many years down the road.
  6. I completely agree about John Henry. When he was being interviewed I was like "just stop talking already, please" He was being a complete tool throughout it I thought. Not to mention, his voice is annoying as all hell. He should stick to running/financing the team. Enough public talking for him. Let Lucchino do it, he's better I think.
  7. This is where I have merged all of the "can/should ortiz play 1st in St. Louis?" threads.
  8. Was there ever any doubt? And I'll be merging all of these topics about Ortiz, we seem to have a bunch.
  9. This is precisely what PMs are for. I'm locking this thread, sorry.
  10. Yea, we need to "put the past (albeit the good) behind us" so we can actually focus on the series. But I really dont see any way that it can at all compare to the ALCS, and that will certainly detract from it.
  11. Finally someone who speaks the truth. We're all thinking it.
  12. For my 2000th post on talksox: I was able to find some sites pertaining to the Louisville Bats: http://www.minorleaguebaseball.com/teams/view.asp?id=226 http://www.batsbaseball.com/ They are the Cincinnatti Reds AAA affiliate. They seem to only be 5 years old though, according to the team history page: http://www.batsbaseball.com/franchisehistory.cfm From this site: The history page is probably your best bet for information. I hope that helps! And again, welcome.
  13. Hey, and welcome to the site. Unfortunately, I don't know much offhand about any Louisville Minor League team, and I doubt very much that anyone here would. Maybe a google search or something along those lines would turn something up? I'll see what I can find in the meantime.
  14. I really don't think any player in that position would say "I am the greatest, cheer for me." I'm pretty sure any of them would have thrown praise towards Johnny who, let's not forget, had 6 rbi in game 7. Also, the fact that Ortiz seems to have a small amount of trouble with the English language may have caused him to come across as more reserved than he really is.
  15. We're just going to have to deal with it. Ortiz's position, if he has to have one, is 1st base. In this case, in order to play, he has to have a position. You can't sit an MVP candidate because of defense, it won't work. The sox need to rely on our offense to win these games, especially against a relatively deep St. Louis bullpen. Papi will play, no doubt about it. If it means Millar sits for the road games, so be it.
  16. Good writeup as usual els. I'm just glad we don't have to face Beltran.
  17. Ummm, welcome?

    NLCS

Looks like we may be facing the Cards, unless Houston can get 2 runs in 2 innings (which is entirely possible).
  19. I agree (well, not about schilling), but I'm moving this to general baseball

    NLCS

I picked the 'stros, even though I'd rather face the Cardinals weaker pitching. Beating Clemens in the WS would be unbelievably amazing. I pick Houston for the same reason as you, Clemens>Suppan
  21. Is there really another option? You can't leave the ALCS mvp out of the lineup. He had two game winning hits. If it means dealing with his D (which isnt REALLY that bad), then so be it. I'd rather have him out there than anyone else. Hell, I'd have Ortiz PITCH if it meant he could bat.
  22. Welcome to the site red demon, always awesome to see international sox fans.
  23. Ouch, that hurts Derek. Why post it.... I'm getting chills. But, thinking about A-Rod crying in the dugout makes it all seem ok.
  24. Lol Beaneater, nice alternate scenarios. And ahhchon, I say again, BUY ME TICKETS!
