Those are all statements you made that are just plain idiotic.  I will admit to paraphrasing the last one snd typing “their second best offensive player from last year” instead of just typing “Duran.”

Breslow actually did a very good job, which pains me to say because he seems like a total a-hole.

And acquiring Alonso doesn’t guarantee hetting past the Yankees.  It wouldn’t even move the needle..,

It didn't have to be Alonso, though he certainly would have helped. The fact is that we needed at least one more good bat over the winter to be serious competitors for a ring-and Breslow failed to get him. Some of his moves worked out, but he needed to do more. I would have fired him.
