Can anyone seriously argue that Devers at 3B and Bregman at 2B was the right thing to do, even without any spreadsheets hidden from sight?

I have argued that it would have been the better thing to do.  I know how awful Devers' defense at 3B is, but our middle infield defense would have been first rate and Devers would have been happy.  An argument could be made (before the fact) that Devers/Bregman/Yoshida would be a stronger combination than Bregman/Campbell/Devers.

He didn't want to sign Bregman initially per reports. It was all Cora. There was internal strife over it.

then he's worse than i thought. more points for Cora.

I think they want Harrison fully formed before promoting him. It's a long term play.

they know how bad he is and want to let him fade into oblivion, hoping fans forget he was part of the "haul" for Raffy.

It may have prevented us from being forced into posting about fielding percentage ad nauseum a la the movie Sliding Doors.

I did what I could to educate you, but some folks refuse to be enlightened!!

Come on, the HAUL for Raffy was $260Million not wasted on a guy who is a slightly above average hitter and the BUTCHER OF BOSTON.  The icing on the cake was everything else and if it's butter creme and a bit rancid, we still got the cake and that's what matters!!

i'm not sorry he's gone; i just feel like they could have done much, much better in what they got back.

How about we give it a year to see if they use the $260Million and the player create a performance record that we can evaluate.  I was not a fan of the players, just the money returned.
