Both pitchers staying away from the ugly locations so far. Montas lost it when he hit Vaz and had to pitch from the stretch for the first time.

An excellent way to describe what they are doing.

He has looked better but let’s see what happens.

You are blind and/or ignorant. He is pitching great--1 hit and 0 runs after 3 innings is excellent. What games have you been watching this season?

You want to complain, go after the hitless lineup and/or the error by Gonzalez.

Dude he has pitched better lately. I am not knocking him. Still early. Hope he can keep it up

They're calling it an earned run only because Laureno never touched the ball until he ran back to pick it up. Devers knew he was out right up until the ball hit the ground and then had to hustle to get to 2b, after which the Sox went down 1, 2, 3 stranding Devers on 3b.

Still, gotta love the one run. ERod deserves every bit of support he can get.

Throw strikes.

1 away. Think he can make 6 no problem if he keeps this up. Hopefully 7. He is looking pretty strong so far.

Of course you are knocking him. You just did it again.

In your defense, I have to admit he has been rocked this season, and I jumped all over him like almost everyone else. But lately, including 6 innings and 2 outs vs. the Yankees, I think we have seen a very different ERod. Much more variety of pitches and far less reliance on his fastball. A very good changeup. And, best of all, better command. As Jung says, he is not giving away fat pitches, but is still throwing enough strikes to get out.

He’s mixing his pitches better. Hopefully better location.

A walk to start the inning. Not good.

There you go again. I know he's been terrible this year, but in these last two games he is a very different pitcher, not just from earlier this year, but from all previous seasons. For most of his career, he has been more a thrower than a pitcher. Now he has much-needed and long overdue command, and a very good repertoire. We are watching a real pitcher working at his craft.

That sucked. Kike will be an asset I think, that is just a dagger he didn't deserve.

Santana on the other hand......

I mean in fairness to D Money. He isn’t saying “e Rod f***ing blows, he walked this guy….. it’s a game day thread and he’s saying the walk isn’t good which is true. I said the same thing on another forum. Relax.

Rodriguez has pitched better. No doubt about it. I don’t know what’s been the difference. Hopefully he can keep it up.

While I am completely on ERod's side, I recognize that any pitcher and certainly ERod can have a bad inning, which becomes more likely the deeper we go into this game.

Nevertheless, his first four innings have been a delight, not just because of the results, but also because of how he achieved them.

I’m surprised as anybody. Maybe it just took him this long to find his command and control. Missing an entire year I guess can do that. His control just seems so much better. I love it

Thats why I get nervous complimenting him lmao. Usually when I say he looks good he gives up a 3 run inning.
