He did not look great in the first, but he looked good enough to get out of the inning without a run- had we had a decent defense.

We shall see what he can do the rest of the way. He limited the damage.

Devers is absolute trash at third

They have to convert him a 1B.

IMO Dalbec has more potential playing in the hot corner.

X-man has shown a tendency of having a hard time gripping the ball in his glove and ends up making a girly throw to 1st. He's been double clutching a lot this year.

Very true! Now then…. I’ll eat some pizza.

We need a public defender for Santana, someone who can explain the logic of not only playing him but having him lead off.

WEEI guys say slow pitching is Rays doctrine, and it sure worked on that 2d strike vs. Dalbec. He chased a changeup way, way outside.

Another outside changeup swung on and missed by Dalbec. Smart pitching. Kind of dumb hitting even though Santana on deck is a pretty sure out.

I really want to know what I am missing because in my rudimentary baseball acumen it doesn’t make sense at all. I want Cora to enlighten me lol

I still think ERod has not fully recovered from the heart ailment and Covid. Nothing he throws looks right. His Change looks a little better tonight. I wouldn't give you a plug nickel for anything else so far. Lucky he got out of that inning with just two runs against, one unearned.

I don’t know. Too many excuses. Hasn’t his fastball diminished?

I think his FB is crap so far this year.

It's what they do.

The things that don't show up in glitzy stats or any at all.

Rays are annoying as hell when you are a fan cheering for the other team lol

Jeter and X-Man have something in common. They both are/were very good hitters, but just average defensively. Good hitting can provide a smokescreen for other weaknesses. I'd still take X-man over any other SS in MLB, but I have accepted the fact he's not an elite glove.

Bob is a dumb player .Kike telling him three times balls outside and dumb Bob ignores him .I bench dumb Bob after that at bat .

If Xander had Iglesias glove he would be in the conversation for the best SS of all-time.

Danny Santana stinks in the field too, but Renfroe to the rescue! Great play for the 3d out. Renfroe caught it barehanded, great throw to the relay man, Bogaerts, whose throw beat Diaz by a mile.

Santana late on 81 mph

He at least got on base but yeah you can’t miss that meatball in the middle. It speaks volumes how lost this guy is at the plate.
