Well you were kind of right about breaking it open except the bottom of the order for Tampa is doing the damage 4-1 Rays

Lol still early. I think this rays squad can win the World Series.

Today is the end of Boone’s tenure if the Yanks don’t find a way to bail him out. The umpiring today has been abysmal. 3-0 on Voit, sacks packed, 2 outs and Morton throws two balls well outside the zone and they’re called strikes. Voit bounces out. 1 run cost there. Tanaka had a strike em out throw em out DP on a 3-2 1 out situation, but the ump missed another one and called a ball. Kiermaier then crashes a 3 run bomb. Then Boone goes to his ace relievers down 3 and decides to burn Green for tomorrow’s likely elimination game by sending him out there for a second inning, and 2 runs score. The umps have cost us 4 runs. Boone has cost us 2. Add that on to Boone’s ******** from yesterday and this has to be his swan song. I’m done with him. And please, robot umps now

Stages of frustration and desperation : Blame the manager. Every move he makes backfires . He needs to go. Blame the umps . Those incompetent umps are killing us . Robot umps now. The truth : The Rays are outplaying the Yanks , as they have all year. It is sometimes hard to face reality.

Umps haven’t been great that’s for sure, but this is still a royal ass kicking. But yes I agree, I’m sick of the inconsistent umps in this league.

Granted I’m sure if we had robot umps, it won’t go perfect either. They tried technology with the NHL ALL STAR and it was a complete joke. Obviously this would be much different, but I think there would be hiccups with robot umps.

The Rays are a team that capitalize on mistakes and good fortune. They got some umpiring good fortune and managerial mistakes. Tip of the cap, they’ve outplayed the yanks. But to disregard the advantages they just were handed is also pretty stupid

Comes with the territory. Houston did it in the series we beat them in two years ago. Lol. This board can be bad for it too. Truth be told , it’s such a normal thing. It’s easy to blame the umps. Some of the calls tonight have been bad though without a doubt. But let’s make no mistake. The Yankees are flat out getting out played. Tampa is a hell of a team this year. Zero chance I was thinking this would be an easy series for the Yanks.

Dude after cole your pitching was very suspect. Can you admit this?

Agreed

With that said, yanks just didn’t get good pitching tonight.

Ya bad umps or not. The pitching tonight was just not there for New York. Can’t give up 8 runs to Tampa.

If the rays win this they better find a way and win tomorrow because i wouldn’t wanna face cole in a 5th and deciding game. Idk.

Agreed completely. The Yankees just seem to be built for the playoffs so if this comes down to a deciding game five, I think the Yankees take it just because they seem like a more poised and calm team. Tampa looks very good tonight however

Losing Severino happened after the start of the first ST. Losing German was preordained from last year, but their initial plan was to have him be an option the back half of the season.

Losing them both is an issue, but not doing s*** at the deadline is also an issue. Today, Tanaka was not good. That’s not really debatable. Yesterday, Boone f***s around with his #3 and 4 starters and loses them both as starting options for tomorrow’s elimination game. Even if he got a pass for that, losing Green’s availability for tomorrow when we were down 3 is just inexcusable. It just is. You don’t burn him in more than one inning in a game you’re down 3 and it’s not an elimination game.

Perfect world, Green doesn’t see the mound tonight, and he’s ready for game 4. Tomorrow goes JMont for 2-4, Garcia for 2-3, and then hand the ball to Green/Britton/Chapman. Losing Green for tomorrow or limiting him to one inning severely affects that plan. Really, really bad managing

Backs against the wall and we're stuck starting Monty. It's not what you want. He does have the potential to throw a gem though, seems like his starts were either really good or really bad this season.
