The Kershaw era in LA has been nothing but fool's gold in the post season. Perhaps the greatest reg season pitcher that ever lived.

Sounds kinda funny but, oh so true.

Yup very true! As a Colts fan I suffered with great regular seasons for 7 years before a championship with Manning. Now it’s the same with Luck lol.

Maybe Porcello should pull a Babe Ruth and reinvent himself as an everyday player. At this point he may be a better hitter than he is a pitcher.

Lol wouldn’t even argue that.

I would say Rafi and X. Mookie frittered away his leadership role on this team this year. Not sure he ever really cared about it. JD never had it though the media tried to give it to him.

X is now the leader of this team. It sure as heck ain't Pedey and I can't think of anybody else it would be.

Plus we have to come to terms with the knowledge that Rafi had not learned very much about fielding at the ML lever in 2017 or 2018 and was as goofy footed starting the 2019 campaign as he was in 2018. X took over the role of mentoring and tutelage and Presto chango...Rafi the ML fielder.

Your point is well taken. The SOX could build a really good team around those two.

Swing hard in case you hit it.

Pretty good sequence by Bieber there. The first pitch change and the couple curves all started out at the level that last fastball came in at. Set him up really well. Bieber is a pitcher, not a thrower.

Bieber has very good stats. He probably takes a lot of abuse for his last name.

X-man! Like I said earlier, one could build a damn good team around those two.

I was referring to a team that was just starting up.

yeah...our left side of the infield + outfield is one of the very best in baseball. if our pitchers showed up and played this year we would be having another fun season.....

Rafi is a solid fielder now. Could even be a future great fielder if he wants to be.

I do not agree with Spear's comments in his new book or about his new book that tutelage is expected at the ML level now. Tutelage always happened at the ML level just not from square 1! There is really nobody that can take you from square 1 to polished at the ML level. You are just going to bump along as you would have at AAA, if anything slower because AAA or AA is probably where you should be playing that young and that raw a talent.

Rafi for his part was a complete mess when he came up and stayed pretty close to a complete mess because nobody as a ML coach or player was willing or able to take him from where he was to where he needed to be.....until X took him under his wing and immediately started to pound on him about his pre-pitch preparation and his footwork. That is stuff Rafi should have had when he got here. Its literally that basic to playing the position at any serious level of baseball.
