Hey Cashner..... You had a nice stretch with Baltimore where you only gave up 7 runs in 33 innings.... Where the hell is that since you came to Boston? Tonight is a good night to do that again. Oh and also the same run support as last night would be nice too :) GO SOX!

So much depends on whether the guys has all or most of his pitches that day--and of course command. Tanaka, who is capable of shutting the Sox down, got killed last night because he couldn't put the ball where he wanted to. Lefties have given the Sox problems this year, and Paxton was one of them.

Paxton relies more on power. His command isn’t as good nor needs to be as good as Tanaka’s. Paxton runs into trouble less with his in zone command but more with the walk. If he can limit the walk, he can juice up the heat into the high 90/s and get the batters to chase up with heat or down with the slider. When he starts walking guys, he dials it down to command it better and gets romped.

Are you still as high on Paxton and Happ as you were over the winter?

(I know I've had to revise my thinking on Porcello & Eovaldi.)

Well then maybe his command is not really better when he dials it back. Command is not laying meatballs in the strike zone to get strikes. If you can locate 94, ML hitters are going to have trouble with that. If you lay 97 right down main st at the belt line or just below it, 97 in that location is not going to get past ML hitters and neither is 94. The best the pitcher gets is what Sale got the other night v the bottom half of the Rays order dealing 97 in that location....lots of balls fouled off. If the hitters are above average ML hitters, those foul balls turn into bombs over the fence.

Why not use last night as a stepping stone? How about 20 runs tonight? It's good to have goals man.

Would be nice if rod beck jr doesn’t get lit up tonight. Hope he can give us a chance. I want no split. 3 out of 4 or a sweep.

Runs in the bottom of the 1st would be very helpful. Not sure how much Cashewnuts is going to get away with tonight.

No matter how this comes out, the Yankmees need another starter. We probably need another reliever.

I know a bunch of people here don't believe batting orders mean anything. But this offense just took off from the day Cora lined up Mookie, Rafi and X, 1,2,3 in the order.
