There are tons of hitters out there that can't do anything against good pitching. In the first place, they don't even recognize good pitching. They just trudge back to the dugout until next time or trot around the bases after a HR.

 

If you are always going to approach your AB like the count is always 2-1, you are very likely to look like most hitters look today.
