Well, you're not gonna see Kahnle, Ottavino, Britton or Chapman tomorrow. It'll be CC, Cessa, Holder and Green.

Probably won’t matter

Oh we are cooked but I'll enjoy watching you folks twist in September .

We may twist in October, but I am not worried about September. The Astros are our bugaboo. Here is to hoping the Stros fall to the Twins or anyone else

Who? JD?

I think that was the intent (IL_ If JDM is not hurt in some way that is stopping his bat then we have an impostor wearing his uni. That is not the same guy that ripped line drives and long flies to right cewnter for the past few years.

So at this point it looks like we are playing for a wild card and will be tickled to get one. Maybe when we get a 2020 reset Cora will be cured of over-managing which he has been doing since ST. Maybe the players will gain back some compete by then as well.

June 1, a .500 team going nowhere, a few IL guys but no true difference makers (maybe Eovaldi) Hard to figure but the stats don't lie 29-29.

A high payroll team can’t have a s*** season like this but we did back in 2014. This squad looks dead. No heart whatsoever. When it goes bad it goes bad. These guys are making millions of dollars to get Ws.

Hahaha... I’d love to see that.

Maybe 2020 they will actually show up and not come out flat and uninspired. Idk if these guys got big heads when they won the WS. It takes hard work to get back there.

Everyone guns for you. Teams don't sit back and say, "wow the sox won 108 games in 2018, lets bow down in 2019." Nope, they want to stick it to the defending champs every chance they get

Some players that look genuine bored ....Mookie Betts looks like s*** to me Benny looks like dog s*** to me and yes JDM looks like a pile Of Horseshit to me .All three need to be sat for a week and told they look like dog s*** this year .Chavis needs to be pulled aside and sat down kids swinging at butterflies above his head .Discipline Cora it helps in more than 1 way puss cakes .

JDM hitting .200 over the last month. He is a big part of it. Mookie has a .400 OBP at the same time, they walk him a lot.

A lot of guys have not been doing their job period!!! You still have 4 months left with fans sitting in the ball park watching this inept product on the field. Fans will show up just to watch a ball game but others will enjoy their summer doing other things.

This team never stopped the bleeding when it was getting worse. They couldn’t turn the season around. This has been an utter disaster for a team with a high payroll like the sox. It’s one thing to be out of it in late July but it’s only June 1.

Too many fat heads from 2018. They are carrying around too much hardware and a bunch of the young guys are obviously all consumed by when they are going to get their first really big paydays. Beni is going to lose a career before he ever had one. JBJ is laughably numb at the plate even while in his seasonal "hot streak". Mookie is just plain lost it appears. Still a great player. But you can tell that he is distracted. JD is hurt. At least we should now clearly know his days in the OF except in an emergency are done. Then you look at the back end of our bench and its really a joke compared to the competition. Pearce, Nunez, Holt. Spare me. Holt is the only one worth a darn.

Really good job working their way to WS win in 2018. But they shot their wad. Out of the division race 60 games into the season. I had a feeling they were headed for this when they resigned Pearce....as what....for what.....so they could allocate a tidy $12M to 1st base?

Well thought out post .I never understood the Pearce sign but it's the same team minus the most important pen peace Big Red so it's on Cora now to motivate and get these baby's to wake the hell up .

I agree. But I’m also one that still thinks we have far too much damn talent to be losing and stinking like this. Go from the most dominant team in Red Sox history last season to this s***. It’s humiliating and quite frankly they deserve it. To have this much talent and not even be In a playoff spot it’s f***ing embarrassing. Cora won’t last long. And I’m so sick of his calm personality. Every time they interview him he says the same s*** “we will get better bla bla bla” how about light a fire under this team. We have yet to beat the Yankees or even look like we belong in these gmes.

Good thing I’m drunk.

They are playing for a WC now IMO. They are likely to get it since there is so much dead wood in the AL. I certainly can't predict if they will win a play in game or even if they would play it at home. But they show no signs of being able to make up as much ground as they will need to in an effort to actually compete for the division again. They would have to go off on massive runs and have other teams fold to make that happen. IMO they will be lucky to make up 2 to 3 games games a month on first place out the season.

Chavis has some work to do. His contribution to the scoring is going down quickly. My guess is that he will be back at Pawtucket, just as soon as Pedey is ready.

Ready for what? A leg transplant?

Ironic that St. Louis's 4th line gets their first to make it 4-1 against the Bruins top offensive line, and top defense pairing. I seriously hope the Bruins win the Cup for a lot of reasons , but one is so Chara can retire a champion.

Almost immediately, Bruins make it 5-1. Blues pull their goalie

Chara, for reasons unknown. was given a one year contract for next year. Utterly ridiculous.

Yup, that's why Houston won over 100 games last year. Screw the excuses. Last year just about everyone on the SOX overachieved and this year they're more back to normal. This is a .500 ball club as it stands now. Get used to it. There's nothing wrong with JD's back; he's slumping. Just don't expect the numbers he put up last year.

Also, don't expect a WS appearance in the near future either. In fact, the next time the SOX are in the WS, Cora won't even be the manager.
