Our pitching is so bad that it may have revived the career of Chris Davis.

Ruiz was the LH hitter Rick threw that ugly 0-0 pitch to. He didn't finish the pitch and knew he didn't finish it. Tried to overcompensate and lost command of his secondary pitches completely. That left him throwing a FB, about the only pitch Chris Davis could hit and Davis was back in the pink.

Pen finally had a truly suck ass game. But we knew that was coming at some point. Not because they are necessarily bad. Not sure what they are at this point. Just can not put them under so much duress and expect that they wouldn't crumble at some point.

The starting pitching is so bad that I am reluctant to mention the other lapses but we are not helping ourselves in the field. Was glad to see Pedey stretch out for that ball to his left. Boy that play brought back memories of just plain ole' Pedey laying out all over the place.

I would like to see the Sox more willing to use up mound visits on their starters. I know everybody is trying to save up the mound visits for their pen arms now but this is ridiculous. Give the Starter a chance to gather himself back up. In the space of 6-7 pitches Nat had given up 5 runs and in the blink of an eye Rick had lost command of his secondary pitches. I would rather they spent a mound visit or two on the Starters.

It was a very poor decision. The staff was not ready for the season to start. This failed strategy has put th team in an early hole.

Amen.
