Well, the Spring training is around the corner, and I want to announce that I'm officially attending to some games from March 13th to March 18th. I'm planning to go the DET, NY, ATL and TB games. I haven't been there and I have understood that it is an awesome experience. Also I have understood that some posters like A700 and others every year go, so if someone is attending these dates and games I'll be there and we may meet and share some time talking about baseball & the Sox while drinking a couple of beers.

Said that, I want to prepare my trip, so aside the games, I will appreciate if you guys recommend me some things to go and do in Ft. Myers, like bars, restaurants, dinning, etc.

I haven't bought the tickets for the games, so firstable, which seats do you recommend to buy? I'm going alone and probably with another friend but it's not sure. I'd rather a seat where the sun doesn't hit. I was planning to buy a seat at the green monster at Jet blue Park but probably the sun hits a lot there. I have no idea regarding the other 2 stadiums vs DET and NY.

Two games will be at Jet blue park vs ATL and TB, other at Public Field at Joker Marchant St. vs DET and the other at GS field park vs NY —Wonder whether these parks are close to Ft. Myers.

Once again thanks in advance for your recommendations and advise, and hopefully see some of you there.

Re Tickets, This will be our fifth consecutive spring training. Based on our experience over the past five years, if you don't have tickets now, you will have to go into the secondary market i.e. Ace Ticket or Stub Hub. There is always a remote possibility that you can pickup tickets the day of a game if some one has cancelled out but that is a long shot. Frankly one of the best kept secrets is going to a Sox ST game when they are on the "road". This year we will be in FT Myers for two weeks and have tickets for three games two of which are not at Jet Blue park. Check out the Twins and Rays for ST tickets since their parks are close. The Twins are also in FT Myers and the Rays in Port Charlotte about 75 minutes from Jet Blue. The O's are in Sarasota. Good luck. But beware after winning the World Series getting Sox ST tickets can be a bigger challenge than you may think

As for other spots in the FT Myers area Matlacha, Florida is one of our favorites. Once there pick a restaurant. They all have their charms. We prefer Matlacha to some of the other spots like Sanibel Island and Ft Myers Beach because of the traffic although Sanibel Islands is beautiful and certainly worth a visit.

Our favorite restaurant is Pinchers. There are about a half dozen in the Ft Myers area all on the water, great local seafood.

Thanks Elk for your advise and recommendations, I'm taking notes.

Regarding the tickets for the games at Jet Blue Park S5DEWEY is helping me to get them, and I think I'm going to buy the tickets for the away games via StubHub.

Said that, hopefully we can meet there at least to say hello my friend.

From years of experience, if you do get tickets at Jet Blue, try for something on the first base side. The sun can both blind you and fry you down the left field line.
