I don't think they could have expected a whole lot more since Goldy is a FA after this season.

I don't know about that, Goldy is one of those bats that can change a team and send them over the top, now it would be a nice battle in the NL Central between Cubs, Cards and Brewers

I wonder if the Yankees will be on Grienke without giving up much to take on that most of that salary. He only got 3 years left so and coming off 2 solid year. 3/89.5M with Dbacks taking on 15M. Give the Yankees a front rotation starter without those extravagant 5-6 years term.

Not sure about that. I read somewhere (was it Jackson on this forum?) that the Yankees looked into Grienke a few years ago and decided he wasn't a good fit for New York, not the right market for his personality.
