Hello everyone, long time Sox fan here from South Louisiana. Finally have a conference in Boston!! The wife and I are heading up there July 27th and staying for 7 days! This is a bucket list for me been a Sox since birth. I plan on going to a game everyday and hopefully the 1st yankee game on that Thursday

My conference is near the airport but I don't want to stay near there I want to stay closer to the downtown area. So I'm looking for a place to stay not far from Fenway that my wife can tour the city while I am at the conference. We are def going on the Fenway tour and duck tour as well.

Obviously from here we love to drink any bars to visit would be appreciated, cool places to visit/tour, eat and golf courses would be much appreciated.

Also, where to sit since we will be at multiple games. Also, should I get a rental car since I'll be staying a way from the airport. Not sure how bad traffic would be when I leave the conference and drive back or if Uber is the best way to go.

Someone said to look into staying near the Faneul Hall.

Any help is appreciated, we are very excited and looking forward to the trip.

First, read the previous threads where this has been brought up. See above.

Honestly, anywhere in Boston is close enough for your wife and yourself to tour. Not sure what your price range is but the Fairmont Copley is in a great location for all sightseeing and close enough to walk to Fenway. Getting around town will be really easy as you can just walk or take the T. Boston is a very small town and walkable.

There are a bunch of Bars near Fenway and along Boylston near Copley.

I wouldn't rent a car. Either take the T or walk.

Thanks! Sorry new to the site, didn't see the forum/thread. Much appreciated

Not a problem. We should have a thread stickied for this question as it comes up quite often. If you have any questions while you're here, just bump this post.

I always recommend two places close to Fenway on Beacon Street and right on the Green Line T ( Boston College, Beacon Circle line ).

Out near Temple street on Beacon Street there is a motel. It has been a Travel Lodge and a Holiday Inn Express. Not sure what it is now. You can hop on the T and be at Fenway or Kenmore square in five minutes.

There is an excellent Mexican restaurant on Beacon near the corner of Park Drive.

This is authentic Mexican and the food will make your tongue hard.

Awesome really appreciate it! So seat wise looks like nothing in the right grandstands, try to stay behind home plate, the dugout and maybe Monster seats. I know it was talked about already, but easiest ways to get tickets are online. No one sells tickets outside the stadium. Sorry if this is a dumb question, we have no professional team in Louisiana the Astros are the closest and they are pretty strict on that.

thanks again

I know very little about getting tickets but plenty of people here will give you informed opinions.

I would, however, recommend avoiding the monster seats.

They are over-priced and every single one of them is obstructed view. The lower bleachers are always fun, Especially at night. I always liked the right field bowl.

There is a site on-line that will show you the exact view of the field from every seat in the house. Pretty sure it is posted on Talksox somewhere.

Boston can be a really fun place to visit. You should have a f***ing blast.

FWIW, I like the Pavilion seats, the regular ones, not Pavilion Box seats. It's not only a good view of the game it's also a great place to get a foul ball.

Maybe someone else can help this guy too... For the past couple of years the Sox had what they called Red Sox Replay where season ticket holders could resell their tickets but IIRC this year they've changed to something else with the same goal. Does anyone remember what that's called?

It appears that the Sox have almost completely squeezed out the "Independent ticket dealers". The last time I was at Fenway there was nobody on the street selling tickets. Also, they've pushed the scalpers out of the Sox owned parking lots at JetBlue
