I would bet real money that at the end of this season the Sox are going to ship JBJ off to anywhere. Antarctica for example. Don't they have a team? The Antarctica Snow Cats!

It's really a shame how much good starting pitching has been wasted on this road trip.

 

Meh. My take is it's great to see consistent starting pitching, period. My number 5 guy was Porcello, and today he is the world's greatest starting pitcher, at least thru 5 innings. We really need this win. Oops, make that thru 6 innings. Fantastic!

 

Starters helped sweep the Orioles to start this trip and helped enable us to split in Seattle and just might prevent a sweep here in Minnesota.

 

And, I'm not making excuses for the lineup, but sometimes the opposing pitchers are a factor in how well our guys hit. And sometimes they hit it hard but right to someone. Twins have hit some liners today--all but one caught.

I like Benny but I don't think he's a generational player or perennial batting champion like Buster Olney said he was going to be.

Not a bad thought. I prefer him to Nunie/Holt, but can live with the latter, as we have all year. The real worry is will he ever come back.

To be honest, I never heard or read the hype, only that he had a sweet swing. I'm always amazed when these young guys prove themselves early on as he has done.

 

If I had read the hype, I probably wouldn't have believed it because hitting at this level is so very, very hard.

If it was destined that SOX were only going to win one game in this series, then winning on get away day is probably the best game to win. Hopefully, today's momentum will carry over to Fenway.

Really? JDM has more K's, so does Devers. And Beni leads the team in walks with 40. Next most is 30--JDM.
