Not sure why the M's success should be a surprise. The Cano situation must really torque them off. Segura is not just a good player. He is a great player. Cruz can still hit plus their pitching. They should do well. Cano has just got to be frying their butts.

I was just reading up on it earlier today. It looks more like they are favoring what I had suggested which is mandate two infielders either side of 2nd base. Other than that, put them wherever you want to as long as there are two on each side of 2nd. That would force teams to use an OFer for an overshift. Good luck with that.

Seeing the size of the M's 3rd baseman's glove, and he still couldn't catch it reminded me of the early days of baseball when the fielding gloves were about the same size as the fielder's hand. That may have helped explain the huge batting averages at the time.

Throw it Heath. Don't short arm it. I just do not know why Hembree gets into these stretches where he is not extending to home plate. His ball just does nothing when he throws like this. Looks impressive on the gun but nothing is happening.
