Okay everyone needs to calm the hell down. The Sox are losing, yes, but if anyone remembers the Sox have won a lot of games leading up to this. Realistically, they were going to lose one eventually. And this kid is pitching a hell of a game. I don't want the Sox to get no-hit, but if they get to the last out I'll probably be rooting for the guy to get it. Everyone needs to stop sniping at each other and just relax. If they lose, they lose. The game isn't over yet.

Are you slow ?

You mean, do I like to rant with inane suggestions like bench everyone and pull the starter? No.

In all the A's have just been better. Manaea has out pitched sale and the A's lineup has made Sale pay for mistakes pretty much all game. These night's happen but at least find a way to break up the no-hitter.

If this is how some people are acting when the team is 17-2 and losing a game in April, I don't even want to see the mid-summer and playoff game threads.

Now Manaea has got us anxious and we can't do anything with decent pitches to hit. Devers was just out as he was walking up to the plate.

Sale went 7 innings and only allowed 3 runs, without having his best stuff, he obviously is gonna struggle in October.

Definitely, we should trade him for CC Sabathia right now, we need a guy who can pitch in October. Maybe we can throw in Jackie Bradley Jr. if they won't just take Sale.

Most of us recognize that a) we have a pretty darn good team; and B) that Manaea is pitching one heckuva game. I see just one person wanting to throw the team and the manager under the bus.

The season is 162 games. It's a marathon, not a sprint. The Red Sox will have times when they struggle and every team will go through it as the season goes along. Like Cora said, stay hungry and stay humble. If you get beat, turn around and go back to work in the next game.

I honestly think Manaea is going to finish with a no-hitter. His stuff has been great tonight and he's painting the difficult portions of the strike zone to hit and he's done it all night long.

How can anyone want to a no no. That's f***ing terrible. I hope someone lays a surprise bunt somewhere. Edited by d-money

Big dif in hitting with a lead and the Sox have been ahead a good deal lately. Even a bigger dif when you start feeling like the pitcher has got your number. Getting some decent pitches to hit now and just not doing anything with them. Could have used a bit more from the Right hand side tonight. Devers and JBJ have just looked handled. Sandy has looked handled. Beni did not do much so far. Just calm down now and hit the darned thing.

He's thrown some hittable pitches, but he has got everyone off balance. He got a K against one guy (JD?) with two 92 mph fastballs near the center of the zone. That changeup he throws is a killer, and he's pretty good at keeping the ball low. I think the Sox had a couple of hard hit outs, but that's what it takes for most no-hitters.

I hope there is a rally in the 9th, but will understand if there isn't.

I don't think any Red Sox fan on this board wants to see us get no-hit tonight. I don't but Manaea has dominated from the very beginning. Still have a few outs left to break the no-hit bid up but Manaea has earned it if he finishes it.
