I like that he speaks out. I find rehearsed Politically Correct answers to be interminably boring. I have no interest in reading or hearing interviews where the player repeats old cliches and essentially says nothing about what they really think. Papi is always authentic.

Papi is not happy about the "one foot in the batter's box" rule. He says that he might run out of money, because he's not going to change his game. It will be interesting to see how long that lasts.

I would agree that the pitchers are more responsible for the slow pace of the game than the batters. I do not want to see a pitch clock implemented though.

Anyway, it looks like Papi is going to have to abide by the rules. After the 6th offense, he could be suspended.

 

They don't need a pitch clock.

There are existing rules for the length of time a pitcher has to deliver the ball.

They just need to teach the umps how to count to 15.

No, I don't have a link. I can't remember exactly how he said it, but it was something to the effect of how one day he'll have both feet in the box and he'll be 6 feet under.
