Hahaha yup. I don't care how athletic and buff he is. Doesn't mean he can swing the bat well. Considering he hasn't played proffesional baseball in any league in over a year and that his numbers weren't that great in cuba compared to other defectors, I'm worried about castillo. He's 27 too so he's 6 years older than mookie. The red sox better be sure they saw something in him.

I'm of the opinion that Betts is untouchable unless it is for Stanton.

 

If they move him in a trade for ANY pitcher I will be very disappointed.

 

I have no reason to believe that Castillo is anything great or even as good as Betts. Mookie is 21 and has raked in all levels of play leading to the bigs. And now he is demonstrating that he has the skills to be a very good hitter long term. Castillo is an unproven 27 year old.

 

It is a small sample size so far. But I bet Mookie is the real deal.

Very true with castillo. We have been shown zero proof that he will be anything great. His Cuba stats weren't nearly as good as hia defected counterparts , he hasn't even taken a swing at the mlb level. and he hasn't played pro baseball in over a year. As for betts, I agree with you unless we can use him to get chris sale.

Prior to 2014, XB, Bradley and WMB probably would have been enough to get Chris Sale. THe FO thought they had 3 Gold Star prospects, and now we are left with a project in XB and 2 bags of trash.

Thats true right there. Jackie's value went plummeting ridiculously far and so did Will's. Xander's took a hit but not as much as those two. Only thing will has is that for about a half of a season he was a very good player in 2012. Jackie has not shown at all that he can hit up here except for that small stretch in july.
