So, can we give up on JBJ now? Or, do we have to give him another year to prove himself, because it is only fair.

Give him till the rest of the season and spring training. Mookie should be ready in case.

I'll give him the rest of the year. Mostly because it doesn't matter. But, going into spring training with him, if he continues to suck, is getting ridiculous. If he continues to suck, he's not a Major League player. He's a good defensive player, who belongs in the Minor Leagues.

He'll do ok as a 4th OF. Maybe some other team will give him a chance.

I could like with him as a 4th outfielder. Who can be put into the game when we need some good defense. But, we need an everyday center fielder. Do you know who is out there on the free agent market, after the season ends?

Rubby doing a nice job there. It seems like he either gives up only one run in his starts or 4 or 5. But that 3.23 era looks nice. If he can continue to pitch well he should definitely have a spot in the rotation next year.

I was thinking the same thing. I think he could be a pretty good 4th man, in the rotation.

There isn't any CF free agent worth anything. They need Mookie to come through.

Of the only people we have left in our rotation, he is the only one who has proved to be good enough to be a starter next year based off of his performance this year. Joe Kelly could ultimately work his way into the rotation too if he pitches well the rest of the season and so could ranaudo. I don't think they would commit to webster unless he really improved his command.

We might see Joe Kelly be their number 3 and Ruby De La Rosa as their 4th starter. Then, try to find a 1st, 2nd, and 5th guy to fill the rotation out. Webster, if he stays, would probably go to the bullpen.

They really do then. Because you can't have the outfield look like this again, next year. Or else, they're going to be just as bad as this year.

I see it possibly as this opening day:

1st rotation spot: FA signing

2nd rotation spot: FA signing

3-5: rubby, kelly, ranaudo ( even though his last outing in triple a was poor), buccholz. These dudes are all in the mix.

I couldn't agree more with your thinking.

Who the hell would have thought at the beginning of the season that all of our young players would have been fails offensively except brock holt?

This is the best game De La Rosa has pitched this year in the majors, right?

His first start this year vs the rays was really good too. But considering this is a much better lineup, it could be.
