Might as well try some Spudboy mojo as almost everything else seems to have failed!!

Ruby De La Rosa 2-2, 2.51. VS. Chris Sale 8-1, 2.16.

Let's hope good Ruby shows up and that the Sox can put a major hurting on Sale early.

The Sox season may be toast but that does not mean that some good baseball can not be played.

GO SOX!

Losing is bad enough, but recently the baseball has been very poor quality too. It has been hard to watch.

I agree. But we both have seen lousy ball being played by this team before. WE keep watching despite it!

I hold no hope that the Sox will secure a playoff birth or even return to playing .500 ball this year.

I just want to see how the young players develop and I want to see how this team is set up to play and hopefully compete to win games next year.

The Sox are such a mess that I probably will not be shocked by anything that happens on the field or off the field this year.

I just want to see my team TRY to play well and to win more than they have been winning so far. Is that to much to hope for?????

On the bright side, I have always wished I could see more Pawsox games, but Rhode Island is a bit far. I also believe Fenway should not be used for major league games anymore, and it could be used as a stadium for the Pawsox full time.

Well, it looks like both of those will happen this year.

I expect some "beer and chicken" type story before the season is over. LOL!

LOL!! Minor league ballplayers and a major league payroll.

I'm sure we'll hear grumbling about AJ.

If there is a non-player reason for this team's failures, Greg Colbrunn's health issues certainly could not have been good for the offense.

I'm ready to see Vazquez, but don't expect him to have a huge night. He only hit .279 in AAA and is going to hit against Chris Sale.

Another attempt at song mojo:

We've come so far to see your bats wake up

So let's score some runs and bring us massive love

You were up all night to have fun

But now we can't get just one

You were up all night to have fun

But now we can't even get lucky

We can't even get lucky

We can't even get lucky

You were up all night to have fun

And won a World Series

Really nice AB by Betts here. He's gotten Sale to a full count in both AB's and has seen 17 pitches. Then a double. Really really nicely done.

He only struck out swinging once. Encouraging he doesn't look overmatch.

Holt really has to swing at better pitches. His plate discipline is out of whack. He let two perfect pitches go by him in that last AB.

This outing has lifted Sale into the lead for the All Star final vote. Think Farrell will let him pitch? I think not.
