Better yet, he is providing protection for Napoli. The bottom 5 of this game's lineup is gag inducing.

 

Lester needs to give up no more than 1 run if he wants to have a chance.

Who would you prefer if Ortiz is not available?

I love Ortiz, but is DHing in a doubleheader too strenuous? I could understand it if they were throwing a tough lefty, but not against a mediocre righty like Gonzalez.

Woah there. That wasn't his fault -- he didn't know it was going to drop so stayed in the middle of 1st and 2nd to prevent the double play.

Get ready for a lot of goose eggs by our lineup. We need Napoli or Pedroia to go deep. It's the only chance we have. This is is the same bad movie that we have been watching since opening day. Don't expect a differnt result.

Despite the awful start to the year, Nava's OBP against righties is back up above .360 this year. If they keep him as a platoon option, he'll continue to be effective... its a shame Farrell doesn't know how to platoon.

And Gomes' numbers are great against lefties. It is such an obvious platoon that would be productive.
