SEATTLE — Mike Napoli is out of the lineup on Wednesday after fouling a ball off his left foot on Tuesday night. Napoli has been dealing with a sore left toe even before that, and manager John Farrell viewed it as a chance to get him some rest before an off-day.

 

Napoli is available off the bench for Boston on Wednesday night. Brock Holt started at first base for Napoli, with Jonny Gomes and Daniel Nava each getting starts in the outfield corners.
