Up in Seattle now are the Red Sox after their disappointing and frustrating failure in Oakland. Time to settle in and finally start playing like the Red Sox instead of those frauds we've been watching since Opening Day. Tonight the Sox go up against one of the best pitchers in the game in Felix Hernandez, 8-2 and a 2.22 ERA---outstanding stats. Funny thing, though. In his last three starts he has one loss and two No D's. The Mariners seem as stingy as scoring runs for him as ours do for our pitcher.

John Lackey goes for us and so far no one should have any gripes or groans about how he's performed Last time out he went nine innings against the Twin, struck out nine and gave up only three hits.......and only got "nice going, good job" no decision. Jon is 8-4 with a 2.96 ERA and has been a solid pitcher for us this season. The difference between the two teams is that Seattle is 40-36 while we're 35-41. Perhaps the Mariners can do better, but we certainly should and we haven't. Maybe it's time for the Red Sox to show why they captivated and conquered the baseball world just a year ago. We're all wondering where that magic went. Perhaps we can finally start to move the needle this week.

Looks like Capuano will get a strain somewhere to keep Rubby/Workman on the roster.

You mean CRapuano don't you? When you get Dodger rejects this is what you can expect. Still it doesn't all fall on the guy any more than it does on Drew and Bradley, both with Ofers tonight, Drew down to 146 and sinking like a house on a sinkhole. Lackey had a bad night against a weak hitting team so this game was lost no matter who we played, but understand my friend, this team is going to have to swallow hard and do three things that are absolutely mandatory if they want to properly build for the future since if appears this season may be lost. One we have to return Bogaerts to short and get the weak and bumbling hitting Drew the hell out of the lineup once and for all. Trade him, release him, maybe make him a utility man but get him out of there. I think it is obvious to all but a few stubborn diehards that his signing was a debacle. Bogey back at short and when Middlebrooks is ready put him on third and show the patience in him that they have shown in Bradley. As for Bradley, get him the hell out of CF and the lineup, send him down to Pawtucket where he should have been all along and bring up Mookie Betts. Drew out, Bogaerts back at short with WMB at third and Betts in CF and we start to rebuild the team or the future. Tonight might just have been a wakeup call for all of us.

Check that.....DREW 0 FOR 4 WITH THREE STIKEOUTS AND DOWN TO 143. GREAT SIGNING CHERINGTON. Now do the right thing and sit the guy down....PERMANENTLY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Capuano should be cut. The guy stinks. He couldn't cut it with the pathetic Mets. Get rid of him and clear his roster spot.

Breslow sucks this year.
He is not the same as he was in 2013. They should swap him out for Hill who is doing fine in Pawtucket. Is that why we have Hill-- as Breslow insurance? WHat's the use of leaving him in AAA if Breslow isn't getting it done.

Breslow has been very good, except for a few outings. He has given up 11 earned runs in 28 games... but 9 of those runs came from only two games.

He is disposable. If they can move him to another team to help with another part of the roster, they should. There is no reason to hold onto him on a team with the 3 worst record in the league especially when they have a veteran replacement/clone at AAA. it's time to start shaking up this roster. Sitting and waiting will do nothing.
