Peavy's motion is violent, but it's the cross body motion and abrupt stop to his arm that makes one wonder how he hasn't done more damage to his arm in his career

I have always wondered myself how theses pitchers last as long as they do. You think they'd be doing some serious damage over the years pitching the way they do.

He was the black baseball player who broke the color barrier. Despite death threats and opposition from fans, players, and even his own teammates, he went out on the field and played baseball. He was a small part of a larger movement. A movement dedicated to bringing equal rights for every American citizen to the forefront of the law. We celebrate Jackie Robinson Day once a year to honor and remember the bravery and commitment of not only Robinson, but all of the people of every ethnicity who were part of the Civil Rights movement. It's a single 24-hour period of the 162-game baseball season given over to an honorable purpose: the celebration of human courage, decency, and social progress.

You might want to temper your praise a bit. Hit didn't miss a single game for the birth of his children. Lousy dad probably. sarcasm.

The irony of Jackie Robinson day is there aren't many black Americans playing baseball these days. Maybe less than when he was playing baseball. The reason is black kids prefer basketball and football. When you consider that Blacks are about 13% of the US population, and that pro basketball and football consist of mostly black players, it's a testimony as to how great black athletes are. Unbelievably great. And yet you never hear it expressed that way in the media.
