Perfectly fine by me. Bogey has shown me more than enough to make me a believer. Shortstop or 3rd base, I don't care. Just get him in the game.

A friend of mine is a Tigers fan and he has a man crush on him ... says he makes unbelievable play and play. If you have a lot of hitters and can afford to have him at the bottom of your order and he hits .260 you can live with that.

But he will continue saving runs with spectacular plays in the field. He gets lots of infield hits, but they are not luck hits that fall in. He gets them, because he gets out of the box so fast that he beats out routine ground balls.

I think we will all regret the Iglesias trade.The kid can play.

 

First think about the very best expectation you can have for Iggy as a hitter and then think about the Sox being satisfied with that in a SS and you can save yourself however much angst or regret you might think you should have.

You can't get something decent back in a trade without giving something up in return. We decided to move on with Bogaerts as our guy going forward and have other talent coming up behind him. Getting Peavy back for this run and next year as well was a nice return IMO. Time will tell if Iggy turns out to have a brilliant career, but my money is on him being a utility guy a la David Eckstein etc, and not being an everyday player.
