Put the animals down. We need to stop pandering to the criminals and start protecting the victims. Quick and easy, convict, then bullet to brain in back of courthouse. No more wasted taxpayer dollars

It costs more money, on average, to execute someone than it does to keep them in jail for the rest of their life.

Yeah, because there's never been an innocent defendant on death row.

I'm not talking about a case that is equivocal. This case is open and shut. Confession in hand, easy and over. Bullet to head, all done
Sociopaths. They will never be any good to anyone, so get them out of circulation permanently.

Perhaps we should find less expensive ways to execute a person then.

I would like to have those figures investigated. The additional cost is due additional appeals. I think there are probably a couple or 3 additional appeals. If you get convicted with a life sentence, you get appeals. The court system is expensive, but it costs something like $60 k per year to house a prisoner. If he lives for 30 or 40 yrs, that $1.8 to $2.4 million. I'd have a hard time believing that $2 million is expended on the additional appeals, and even if it does, it's not a budget buster. I don't think we should keep them alive, because it is allegedly cheaper.

According to The Innocence Project, 25% of DNA exoneration cases involved defendants pleading guilty or confessing to the crime.

$60,000 a year to house an inmate? What country club are they going to?

All three should be put to death via the curb stomp.

I want to see them shot by firing squad in downtown Manhattan.

They must have a gourmet chef on staff and they all have personal trainers, cable TV and the internet.

Don't forget an indoor jacuzzi!

Oh come on. You're not actually going to try to bring facts and reasonable arguments into a discussion about the death penalty. Everyone point and laugh at the bleeding heart, liberal pussy.

EDIT: In response to this post by rjortiz: "According to The Innocence Project, 25% of DNA exoneration cases involved defendants pleading guilty or confessing to the crime."

Oh, good. I was worried. If you started losing your mind, then we'd lose the only Yankees fan on this site who wasn't hilariously delusional.

I'm happy I was able to allay those fears.

I'm secretly a Yankees fan...

I'm kidding, but my brother is a Yankee fan. He lives in NYC, so it makes sense.

Hahaha whoops. Must've hit 'reply' instead of 'reply with quote'.

I assume you were trying to quote me. I'll just say that I can't think of a greater miscarriage of justice than the execution of an innocent person. Fortunately there is solution to that problem, and that is to simply eliminate the death penalty.

I would take that a step further and say that I can't think of a greater miscarriage of justice than the execution of a person. But yes, I'm completely with you.
