Was it a bad loss? Yes. Was it as bad as the loss on Friday? No way. The Yankees just pounded the ball against Dempster. I'm not surprised about that. It wasn't 3 errors that cost us the game.

I also don't put as much stock into hitting ARod as you I guess. To me, the game changed when Dempster walked Stewart on 4 pitches. That was the turning point, to load the bases. Dempster should have never seen a batter after ARod took him deep. That should have been it. Workman should have been ready to come in and throw the next 2 innings. That was bad managing.

Regardless, the Sox had their #7 starter going up against the Yankees ace-turned-into-#2-starter. Dempster won't make the post season roster. The Yankees won't HAVE a post season roster.

Bad loss? Sure. But I'm still not pissed about it in the least. I got all that anger out in game 1.

I guess that my mood would be better if I had just caught an Ortiz foul ball. :)

That's for sure. I tried to get any type of ball when I went to Fenway. Whether it was tossed to me, caught during BP(I was damn near close, but it was the Yankees hitting), or a HR ball. To get a foul ball and hit by Ortiz is so bad ass.

Well, it was pretty much the coolest moment of my life.

a700 - I was freaking out too, then I realized we're getting one of the best pitchers in baseball back in about 10 days, and we're not going to have to see Dempster again, so we'll make very strong September push.

Does the Red Sox braintrust really want to win this year? You have to wonder after throwing Dempster out there against the Yankees instead of holding him for SF--in the NL, where he has been more effective. And then making ARod the focus instead of winning the game. It's about winning.

Buch will be back in 10 days? I thought they had him slated for 3 rehab starts. Have I missed some news?

I got a tip on twitter a couple of days ago from a beat writer Bogaert's promotion was imminent. Maybe they waited a bit too long, as is their way, but I see he has been called up. My advice is to get on twitter if you want first hand information.

I hear they've had him under hypnosis lately. :)

I think he's going to throw 1 sim game, 1 rehab, and the be back, but they've never made any timeline official. His sim game should be in the next day or two, then a rehab start around the 26th, and then his first game back on 8/31 or 9/1.

He's running out of time for a rehab, so I hope they don't rush him back.

This was really, really awful. Everything about it. Sad would actually be the best way to describe it. One of the lowest points for baseball in many years.

I read through the important parts of the GT ... a few you were pretty reasonable, which was nice to see.

Is BTR too busy streaking already in San Fran to make a thread?

Remember that our mojos are connected.

I think that Farrell will roll this puke out to the mound again when his turn comes around.

I agree with you, I think it's pretty much guaranteed we'll see him on the mound again starting another game and putting up another 7ER performance.
