Ells needs to be put in the bottom of the lineup till he gets his act together. Farrell needs to understand that the lineup is not written in stone for 162 games.

BTR, you s*** the bed today.

Ellsbury needs to be moved down. He's not a good leadoff hitter. And f*** drew in his mouth for not getting the runner to third.

Complete FAIL from Manager on down except for the battery of Buch and Ross. Ross and Taz....not so much. At the plate....FAIL....Manager....FAIL

Harsh but when it is so obvious that you have lost a game, literally lost it....just about everybody has to contribute.

Good thing I broke into your home and took a nap in your bed.

I'm going to lose my s*** with this team. It's freaking ridiculous.

Runner on 2nd and nobody out down 1 in the 9th and you bloop a pop out to short??? If you're swinging you better be damn sure you can get that ball on the right side of the infield.

That Middlebrooks ended up at 2nd after all was said and done is very indicative of how this offensive approach is just horrific right now. Just horrific

WMB wouldn't have scored on Nava's flyout anyway. Ellsbury just sucks which makes letting him walk so easy

Farrell lost the game just taking Buchholz out, and replacing him with an unknown. He'll lose 6 more games like this by overmanaging the bullpen. The policy sucks. And he's not the only manager that does it.

Infield would have been in, and the way Jansen threw to Nava would have certainly changed, as would Navas approach.

I agree with this, but in the end our offense is just incredibly inconsistent. Pitching was excellent for the most part today, but we just sucked at getting runs in today. Very frustrating to say the least, this team has the talent to make a run and play well, but these last 9 games you would never know it.

Yeah, it's pretty obvious Ells isn't a leadoff hitter. The kid has never been able to get walks. He has to move down the lineup. Pedey has to move up to 2nd. Vic-1st.

But there is a pecking order on this team. And the peck says Ells leads off unless he shows power.

Dumb management.

He was at 101 pitches and struggled today. Don't blame him for taking him out. Bullpen needs to do their job. As does the offense.

Well if they did not have enough evidence telling them this is s***,,,they should have it after today.

If they want to feed us this "Its only one game" and "just gotta go out their tough again tomorrow" ******** fine...I don't care what they feed us. They better not be kidding themselves in that clubhouse.

So tired of this anemic offense when a runner gets into scoring position. This is absolutely infuriating to watch. I hope they get their asses chewed out for such a pathetic showing. This team is laughable right now. Certainly not a first place team, not even close.

Clay battled today, he didn't have a good changeup going, but hang tough. The offense is getting ridiculous, blowing all kind of chances.

Agreed. Clay didnt look himself but he did more then his part today. The offense was non existent again.

This is a bunch of flat-out fabrication. Where do you come up with this stuff?

Ellsbury scored his second run of the month this game on an error. He need to take a game off or hit 8th.

And nothing new, the Sox were 0-11 RISP this afternoon. Total s*** show.

Yes agreed, but pitching was not the problem today. Clay still played a good game.... Our big hitters just looked tired out there. I don't understand where the inconsistency is coming from.

The inconsistency is SO frustrating at this point. 11 RISP. Pretty fk'n bad.

Farrell may not want to admit it in his presser but the offensive approach on this team changed over the course of the last couple weeks from what hit was and has not been right since then.

Once things start going badly it is hard to get back on the right track. You have to have a whole team committed to an offensive approach and they have sort of gone off into their own little corners lately battling their own personal demons. But many of those demons are the same...just manifesting themselves differently with different players.

Farrell saying he did not want to take the bat out of Drews hands but it is not like Drew has been on fire. He has been better...no question but not on fire. No outs and a guy on 2nd you have got to get that run home especially playing at home. Farrell can't make that excuse playing at home where you first have to tie the game. Not the place to try to win it...not there.

The worst part is it came against the Jays. I don't have the stats but isn't they're pitching in the bottom 5 or something in the entire league. Out of all teams to struggle against I don't get how it's against the Jays. 2 runs is pathetic.

They keep saving all their bullets for the last three IP. They spend the first two thirds of the game swinging wildly then get patient in the 7th all of a sudden.

Ellsbury is really pressing, and needs to be removed from the leadoff spot for the time being. Nava needs more PT until he cools off.

My ideal lineup right now:

Victorino

Pedroia

Ortiz

Napoli

Nava

WMB

Salty

Drew

Ellsbury

Gotta shuffle the lineup. Ellsbury just flat out sucks right now and Napoli is in a funk with a loopy swing. They been pitching Napoli away with soft stuff and get him chasing high fastball in.

Losing to the Jays is crap. Buerhle was on today as well. Now tomorrow we see a pitcher they called up. They don't do well against someone that haven't seen. Hopefully tomorrow will be different.

I'm all for a line up shuffle!
