When the Sox are batting the EEI radio guys have been relegated to giving notoriety to hard hit ground balls vs weak ground balls as in "last time So and So was up he hit a hard ground ball." Pretty funny hearing an announcing trying to make hay on a ground ball

Looks like Ace might be trying to make a point here as in....."you should have let me start at the beginning of the season".

The offense is this bad because it is illegal for them to go into the stands and personally deficate on the fans do this has become the closest thing.

He still sucks. Never going to a good starter giving up that many long deep flyballs.

Stay put through the rain delay 100th anniversary fans! Aceves is going to beat the s*** out of Bobby Valentine before he is nailed to a cross at second base and lit on fire while we do the wave and sing Sweet Caroline. Don't forget to buy your brick on the way out!

The Sox never really had an offense this year. They were a bunch a' guys that would sometimes score a lotta' runs and sometimes not. They were entirely dependent on mashing and sometimes they mashed. They could never score a run that they needed to save their lives but they could sometimes score ten runs most of them not more than stat sheet filler.

Very poorly constructed team. None of the people that are responsible for this conglomeration of ballplayers including Theo and BC have anything to be proud of. Who know if they have even learned anything from this mess.

I would agree with that. I can't see how he would be a solid rotation guy. Ace more than Bard had a defined role that was unquestionably the best place for him to be. One thing outings like this one might say is that Ace can go back to what he was although I would not be surprised if he had not burned his bridges here.

I am not all that bent out of shape about his fly ball outs. I just think that the ability to go 5 and 6 innings every time out every 5th day is not really the same thing that Ace seems to do well and I don't see anything in the way he pitches that would suggest he would be a successful starter.

I see this team is playing for a better draft pick. Also, I hope dice-k didn't spend all his money, he isn't getting anything next year. No one is going to want to spend money on a Japinese pitcher who should have stayed in Japan.

Holy Cow. I knew Ells was not hitting. I did not think he was hitting anything off of anybody. But the last game of the Royals series was 27th of August. So going on a couple weeks since he has had a hit off a starter. ugly ugly ugly

Late to the game thread. But can anyone at all answer the question of why in the hell is Dice-K still pitching baseball games for the Boston Red Sox? He will not be playing for them in 2013 (if he is, it's a travesty). There's nothing for this team to gain by throwing him and Aaron Cook out there. None. There have to be some kids (even this Zach Stewart kid they got from Chicago) they can use to gain some valuable MLB experience. Pitching Dice-K seems, to me, to be utterly pointless.

Go Orioles! I would love to see them win the division then watch Showalter have a aneurism when they get thrashed in the post season.

O's are now up by a 4-2 score over the yankoffs with another HR.

Make that 5-2 now.

This is usually around the time in the game when if Jeter can't get his bitch hit, the umps will let him walk on a ball and three strikes to try to get something going for their favorite team.

Instead of listening to DiceK's interpreter tell us how DiceK is disappointed in himself again what do you all say to a Seppuku on the picher's mound after the game?

Gomez you dink. That was not a good pitch to swing at 0-0 count. Geez it is like a disease. Here is a Paw guy, usually expected to have a little more discipline than that....they have one of their few chances to do something in this game and the guy swings 0-0 count into a DP! Do they not get anything?

Here is one of the places where again we might with emphasis on the might fault V. I think he has allowed all of these guys far to much freedom to do as they please with regard to their plate appearances.

Hopefully, we never see the Japanese National Treasure ever again.

I hope he starts every game. Gotta get the highest draft pick possible. I only want Dice-K and Lackey to start games from now on. Hell, bring Schilling back while we still can. WOOO!!! Up yours Toronto!

Was Iggy's one hit an infield hit? I have not seen him get the ball out of the infield. I have seen three of these flairs so far which might be as close as he has come to a hit. I just have never seen such a string of weak plate appearances.
